Hey everyone, it's been ages since I last wrote something so I decided to give it a try after being inspired by a recent RP I did. SO, here it is, for better or for worse.

It was a cold winter night; the wind howled, and the snow fell gently.
"It's always the same story… You say and think that you've got me for good… yet it never ends, does it, brother?" the villainess said, lying defeated on the floor. The wound on her head bled steadily as she clutched her ribs, it was obvious that some were broken, others cracked. Pain coursed through her body, forcing a wince from her lips despite the carefree demeanor she tried to maintain.
"This time will be different, sis." The hero's voice lacked its usual warmth; it was detached, cold. His stance was stiff, his knuckles white from how tightly he clenched his fists at his sides. He knew what had to be done. He knew the suffering and casualties his sister had caused. He had made his final decision.
He had given up on her.
He stepped closer to her limp form, gripping the collar of her tattered clothing and lifting her slightly off the ground. His mind raced, torn between the undeniable love he still held for his sister and the rigid ideals that shaped him as a hero. "I tried so many times… I begged you to stop and let me help SO MANY TIMES. Yet you never did. Your anger never faded… it only grew stronger." His voice trembled, the weight of years of failure pressing down on him as tears welled in his eyes, slowly trailing down his face.
The villainess laughed, unbothered by the pain racking her body. Despite her injuries, despite the desperation in her brother’s voice, she laughed. But as the sound faded, her expression grew serious, her sharp gaze locking onto his.
"You were always the naive one. The weak one." Her voice was distant, almost pitying. "You always loved playing the hero, didn't you, brother? No matter where, no matter what the situation was… you had to be the hero. Always."
She tried to move, but her body was too weak, too broken; just like she had been for years. Before she could react, warmth enveloped her.
A hug.
A real, familiar, suffocating embrace she hadn't felt in so long.
Her body stiffened, her breath hitching. Then, a sharp pain pierced through her ribs.
Her brother held her even tighter.
The hero sobbed uncontrollably, his hand shaking around the knife buried in her side. His grip on her tightened as though he was trying to hold onto the past; to a time when they were just siblings, not enemies. His voice was barely a whisper. "I'm sorry..."
The villainess froze. Then, slowly, her body relaxed. Warm tears trailed down her face, and with the last of her strength, she lifted her arms, wrapping them weakly around him. For the first time in so long, she felt like his big sister again. She stroked his hair gently, whispering, "It's okay..."
The hero pulled the knife out, only to press it back in. Again. And again.
His hands were unsteady, his breath ragged, his mind drowning in the reality of what he was doing. His tears soaked into her clothes as he held her tighter than ever before.
She coughed weakly, blood staining her lips, but her eyes… they were soft. Loving. "You've grown…" she murmured, her voice barely audible. "You were always too afraid to hurt anyone… but you did it, brother."
Her arms slipped from around him. Her head fell against his shoulder. The light in her eyes faded.
She was gone.
The knife slipped from his grip, clattering to the ground. He didn’t let go. Instead, he hugged her tighter than he ever had in his entire life. His breathing turned erratic, his sobs wracking his body as he started hyperventilating.
He had finally done it.
He had given up on his sister, for the greater good.
But then… why did it feel so pointless?
Why didn’t he feel proud of the hero he had become?
He had saved thousands of lives. But all he felt was emptiness.
Because in the end… hadn't he just become what he fought so hard to destroy?
Hadn’t he done exactly what his sister had?
What made killing right or wrong?

Well, I'd say it was a good try... Thank you for reading and taking the time to do so. I didn't think I'd be able to write something again after so long, lol. Until next time.
