I've noticed that lots of awesome events have been left out of the film adaptations of Harry Potter...
But I wonder if thats such a bad thing?
Personally, I saw the films before reading the books, so for a long time, i had no idea what i was missing out on (and i had no HP lovers in my midst who could have mentioned them to me)

I'm almost glad that some parts weren't in the films, becuase i got to discover more about the HP world after i'd thought things were over! ((apparently its never over!!!))
(just before we start - thanks to The Ravenclaw for patiently showing me how to bold and center my headings!!! so helpful)
HERE ARE SOME OF MY FAVOURITE PARTS FEATURED ONLY IN THE NOVELS!
*not in any particular order*
:warning: ^^SPOILERS ALERT^^ :warning:
*********************************************
:wine_glass: SNAPE'S CHALLENGE :wine_glass:
there were numerous challenges guarding the philosophers stone, this particularly interesting challenge was left out of the films!
((i dont know about you but i tried to solve it, then realised i could'nt because i didn't know how the potions were laid out))

:feet: MARAUDERS :feet:
the movies never tell you who the marauders are, they just happen to have their name on a map!
They were a group of 4 gryffindor students, who attended hogwarts form 1971-1978, and were always getting into trouble (not unlike the weasley twins)

:droplet: DUMBLEDORES FUNERAL :droplet:
after Dumbledore fell from the tower, there was a funeral in which Dumbledore was 'sent off' respectfully.
Also, Harry told Ginny their relationship couldn't continue after the funeral happened as he, Hermione and Ron were going to look for horcruxes.

:yellow_heart: GINNY + HARRY :yellow_heart:
in the novels harry and ginny almost had a relationship before getting married.
in the films however, there are a few kisses then BAM, kings cross and 3 kids.
:cat: FILCH IS A SQUIB :cat:
well, apparently there was a reason that filch never used magic to clean up!
Harry finds a letter in Filch's 'room' while waiting for a punishment. He reads the letter but does not understand it's significance until he learns what a squib is...

:ghost: PEEVES :ghost:
the hogwarts poltergist who loves causing mischeif!
He's brilliant! and could only be put in check by the Bloody Baron and Dumbledore.
*pulled a lot of pranks on Dolores Umbridge*
:boom: 6TH YEAR MAGIC :boom:
students were supposed to learn apparation and wandless magic... haha, imagine that in the films ( silent concetration faces...)
But in the films, Harry and his friends were able to do wandless magic by the Goblet of fire_ You Sal
:four_leaf_clover: SPEW :four_leaf_clover:
a group created by hermione to try and free house elves. she was trying to be helpful but none of the Hogwarts elves wanted anything to do with it, they all loved working too much!
It had hardly any and those who ed only did so as they were annoyed at, or afraid of Hermione

:email: HOWLER TO PETUNIA :email:
Vernon wanted to kick harry out of the house, but a howler from Dumbledore arrived saying " my last"...
this made petunia ant that harry remain in the household, confusing Harry and Vernon.
It seems that Petunia did have with wizards after lily left hogwarts and got married! _ Purplependulum
:performing_arts: PERCY ISNT SO GREAT :performing_arts:
Percy completely denounced the Weasley family and left his mother heartbroken.
He later returned and apologised but still...
(he shouldve died instead of_____ you know *sorry*!!!)
:+1: KREACHER WAS GOOD! :+1:
in the novels, Kreacher ended up warming to Harry, Ron and even Hermione after they showed him kindness.
He cooked and cleaned for them. We learn that he is very loyal and just wanted to be shown some kindness!

:skull: JUST ALL OF VOLDEMORTS HISTORY :skull:
the films also missed out the Taboo on voldemort's name. People who said the name could be tracked down by the minstry as only a few wizards were brave (or stupid) enough to say his name aloud
:cookie: HAVE A BISCUIT HARRY :cookie:

:joy: FRED + GEORGE'S TRICKS :joy:
when everyone was trying to get rid of umbridge, Fred and George played A LOT of pranks that were left out of the films.
for example, leaving a bog in one of the hallways that all the teachers pretended not to be able to remove.

:bear: REMUS+TONKS=TEDDY :bear:
The films missed out this cute love story between Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks...
We only see their relationship towards the end.
They also completely miss out the fact that Teddy is their son. By not showing that they have a son, their deaths seem less of a sacrifice_ Thalia Thin

Yeah, because as much as petunia was jealous of Lily, and didn't want anything to do with her, they are still family.
They also probably had heaps of good times together when they were younger, so I agree with what you've said
