Could Voldemort have been delayed?

Hello, witches, wizards and other magical folk!

:gem: before i start, Happy New Year! :gem:

I was reading 'The Goblet of Fire', and I came across something that got to me every time I read the book,

It occurs when Volemort gains a body, and rises again.

It made me wonder, could Voldemort have been delayed?

And - could it have been done with minimal physical effort?

So, here is what I want to... 'bring to your attention':

~ when could this have happned?

~ who could have made it possible?

((~ and would it have been better or 'worse' for his rise to be dragged out?))

In the Graveyard

Duing the final phase of the triwizard tournament, Cedric and Harry find, and grab the triwizard cup. It turns out that the cup was a portkey, and it transports them to a graveyard outside of Hogwarts grounds.

This is the graveyard in which Tom Riddle senoir, Voldemort's father, is buried...

Harry was deliberately taken there, as he was the final component required for Voldemort's rise, and Cedric was an unfortunate 'add on'.

A 'spell' was created by Voldemort and cast by Wormtail so that this could happen.

"Bone of the father, unknowingly given, you will renew your son!"

"Flesh - of the servant - willingly given - you will - revive - your master"

. . . . . .

^^ these first two components were easily found and added:

_ Tom Riddle Snr's bones

_ Worntail's right hand

but Voldemort decided that the third line needed Harry. ((we find out why later on))

Blood of The Enemy

I think that Harry Potter could have prevented Voldemort's 'early' rise.

The evidence is in the final line:

"'Blood of the enemy... FORCIBLY TAKEN... you will ...ressurect your foe"

Harry obviously didn't want his blood to be used, he would not have wanted to help the dark lord rise to power once again.

Because of this, he struggled against his bindings - therefore, causing the blood to be taken by force.

"Harry could do nothing to prevent it..."

"... Struggling hopelessly at the ropes bining him..."

Maybe, if he hadn't tried to stop the event, if he had gone so far as to hold his hand out to the knife, then the new body wouldn't have been formed that night.

The key phrase in that third line is - "Forcibly taken".

So, if the blood was given willingly, then the line would not have been fufilled - and Voldemort may have even drowned in the cauldron, as harry had hoped.

"let it have drowned ...let it have gone wrong..."

Perhaps if he had been more quick thinking, then Lord Voldemort would have been held up for a while longer; Giving Harry and Dumbledore more time with the horcruxes in the future.

For Better or For Worse?

Say that Voldemort was delayed... even for a short while...

Would it have made coming events easier to handle, or maybe even harder?

_ :skull: Well... It wouldn't have prevented the death of Cedric Diggory, and so his parents would have had only his death on their minds, perhaps making it harder to handle.

(they could have been distracted by Voldemort)

_ :skull: if voldemort took long enough, then harry may have turned 17 and lost the protection of lily before having to take on the most powerful dark wizard of the age.

_ :skull: Harry would have told everyone about what he saw, but people would have kept on calling Dumbledore crazy, and Harry as well.

_ :skull: He may have even been branded a murderer, like Sirius, because of Cedric's death - and Harry being the one to bring the body back.

~ :gem: But Harry would have had a little more time before he had to find out The Dark Lord's history.

~ :gem: And there wouldn't have been as much pressure to find the horcurxes - they wouldn't have had to hide as much while doing it.

~ :gem: Dumbledore may have been alive for a while longer, and so could have offered more guidance to Harry.

~ :gem: Voldemort wouldn't have ordered Draco to murder Albus, and so he could have been 'innocent' a while longer, and he may not have had to face that challenge at all.
