Hello boys and welcome to another Golazo blog! Today’s episode is going to be especially about San Fernando CD and my career mode with them on Football Manager 2019. Let’s get into it.

San Fernando CD competes in the Spanish Second Division B, Group 4. Some of the big teams in this league are U. Murcia, Huelva, Murcia, Sevilla B, Málaga B, and El Ejido. So it’s actually a pretty tough league and we’re expected to finish mid table and that’s exactly where we are.

Our performances have been absolutely solid and very respectable seeing as San Fernando isn’t the strongest team in the league. It’s not at all a bad team though, this team has very solid players in every position of the field and can put up a fight against any of the top teams in the league.

We finished 8th in the league which is actually really good considering we weren’t expected to make much of an impact. The board are more than happy with this finish as we finished slightly above mid table. A lot of this was largely due to our loan deals of Lucas Queto and Marvin Obuz as they both put in very solid performances.

While they were both great wingers that left an impact I think it’s safe to say we can continue without them as we have players like Manu Ramirez and Antonio Vera to back them up in that position along with Pablo Sanchez if we really need him to. Our star striker Bakary can also play on both wings.

Our season record was 14 wins, 13 draws, and 11 losses for a total of 55 points which was enough for 8th place. I’m really proud of the boys and ready to get another season going in the Spanish division B4. Now it’s time to talk about the big cup.

Spanish Federation Cup

*Couldn’t find a picture of the cup or the logo so I just put that*

I am absolutely astonished by how the boys performed in this cup, I think even you guys are going to be surprised. Long story short, we didn’t lose a single game in this cup. We absolutely banged out and as the FM News would say, we masterminded giant killing.

In the first round we absolutely clapped Badalona 11-6 over two legs, bang easy. The next cup tie we were expected to lose but somehow came out on top 4-3 on aggregate, huge win. In the Quarter-Final we were expected to lose again but guess what, banged it 4-1 over two legs. Then in the first leg of the semi-final I was super nervous facing Gernika but we beat them 1-0 and then 3-0 in the second leg. Too easy.

Then came the big game, well games. This competition is a little weird as the final has two legs instead of one. In the first leg we banged out and dominated them the whole game. We won 2-1 after they scored in the 86 minute. While we had the lead was actually kind of nervous heading into the second leg because they had an away goal. In the second leg we banged out again and drew 2-2 away from home! That was enough to seal the deal and give us the 4-3 aggregate win.

We won a trophy in our first year as San Fernando Manager, huge. I have to give big ups to our youngster between the sticks, Milovic. He made a huge mistake on a free kick to the right of the box, he kicked it straight to their striker and he shot at an open net, somehow Milovic ran so fast and saved it and the game. Here are some of the memorable moments.

Well after a massive cup win and a very respectable finish in the league I’m excited to kick off a new season. Hopefully this time around we can earn promotion and I’m really going to be striving for that and I’m sure the board are as well. I’ll get into transfers in a little bit but I’m hoping we get some quality youngsters from our academy.

As for transfers I’m looking to sign the academy players that the big clubs release because those boys absolutely destroy in lower league saves and will get us promoted quickly along with proving themselves. These academy players released by larger clubs are so huge because they’re so good in the lower leagues and usually have 4* potential or higher.

They’re must signs when it comes to lower league saves and are pretty much the biggest reason why I have so much success in lower league saves. So I’ll be looking to sign as many of those as I can. As for my goals for next season, let’s discuss that.

I plan to get promotion as I said before and I am going to try and win the Spanish Federation Cup for the second time in a row. If I can manage to do that, that would be insane. It’s going to be tough but I think I can pull it off. It’s gonna be sad not having Lucas Cueto and Marvin Obuz though because they were only on loan.

We’re also losing 4 players to expiring contracts because they don’t want to negotiate. Those players are Jacobo (good solid RM/RW that I just didn’t play too often), Angel Torres (Young striker, was a great finisher, scored 3 goals in 11 appearances), Sergio Romero (I never played him, like not even once, he’s bad), and Juan Ureba (I didn’t play him much at all but when I did he was atrocious).

UPDATE: I’m stupid, the reason Angel Torres didn’t want to negotiate is because I had him transfer listed. I unlisted him and he signed a new two year deal. Yay!

So anyways this week’s blog was a little bit shorter I just wanted to round up my first season with San Fernando, personally I thought we did very well, what did you think? Comment below and...
