Should Antonio Conte Be Appointed Real Madrid Manager?

The Sacking

After Real Madrid was tore apart by the seemingly unstoppable Barcelona Lopetegui was sacked after a terrible run of games. It’s only right that he was sacked as Real Madrid were in terrible form under his management and with the star studded squad that he had you’d expect them to beat teams like Levante and at least give Barcelona a run for their money but that wasn’t the case.

Lopetugui’s Performance

Lopetugui only lasted 14 games with Los Blancos winning 6, drawing 2, and losing 6. That’s a terrible record for Real Madrid especially for the teams that they were facing. Under his management Real Madrid scored 21 and conceded 20, giving them a positive 1 goal difference. With a win percentage standing at 42.86% it was only right Lopetegui got sacked and it was just a matter of when he would get sacked.

Antonio Conte

Antonio Conte is a the former Chelsea manager and the primary target for Real Madrid as speculated by the media. He was sacked not too long ago by Chelsea lasting about 2 years with them. In those two years Conte managed Chelsea for 106 games. His record in those games was 69 wins, 17 draws, and 20 losses. That’s a pretty good record but was eventually sacked due to a low placement in the premier league by Chelsea’s standards. With a 65.1 win percentage he looks like a likely candidate for the Real Madrid job.

My Opinion

Personally I think Conte would be a good Real Madrid Manager. I would accept him into the club gladly but I would do the same for other managers. Arsene Wenger might even be a good choice for the club. Only time will tell..
