The moment I’m born into this world,
I hear a monsterous cry.
Is that from me?
I don’t think I’ll ever know.
The sounds I hear, are different than earlier.
Not as loud as previously heard.
I’m unsure about this new place,
full of all these strange noises.
I hear a cooing noise, close to my ear.
Whispering things I yet to have knowledge of.
If only I knew what the creatures were saying,
maybe then I could respond without being so shrill.
Actually, scratch that,
I don’t know if that screeching sound is me.
Could be something else in this strange place.
Will I ever know what all those sounds are?
Another interesting place,
With more weird sounds.
This time it’s constant beeping.
It’s starting to irritate me.
Time es differently here,
Yet all the sounds are the same.
High-pitched wailing to mechanical beeping.
Even everything in between.
Once again, I find myself in an unusual place.
I know this to be true, by the loudness it brings.
I hear beeping, chattering, ringing, too.
Overlapping sounds, confusing me so.
Something slams and something clicks.
A steady thumping noise,
and a low hum of something unintelligible.
I hope to be without the loudness soon.

Here's part one of five for the #QoTEvent. Let me know who you think the narrator is. Also, I didn't mean for that last line to should so dark. It just means they want quiet and hope they get it soon.

I think the narrator is the kitten. :smiley_cat:

Ahh, I could see how you'd think that. I was actually trying to have the narrator be a newborn baby, but a kitten works just the same.
