What Fantasy Means to Me

I know I’m incredibly late to the party, but I thought I’d write up a little something for the #Fantasy11K event. And since I’m a sentimental bastard, I’ll be discussing both fantasy as a genre and this community. So, I hope you enjoy my ramblings. Thanks for checking out this post.

Fantasy as a Genre

Alright, so fantasy as a genre has always fascinated me. A lot of it stems from the books I read as a kid. One series in particular, the Ranger’s Apprentice, really stuck with me. The characters, the lore, it all just clicked with me. (Fun fact: I actually had two of the books on my old dinosaur of a Kindle.) The thing I love most about fantasy is how boundless it can be to write in. It always amazes me to see how much room there is to work with in the genre, from high fantasy to modern fantasy.

The Fantasy Amino

I ed this community during my freshman year of high school when I was taking a creative writing course. I ed this community it’s to improve my skills as a writer and work on some novels I was planning. I meeting so many awesome people here and being blown away by the writing and the art. This place helped me build my skills as a writer and gave me the confidence to start posting my stories on Amino. When I made Curator, I was so excited to have a chance to help make this community a better place. I’ve watched this community grow from 4K up to where it is now, and it really blows my mind when I think about how far we’ve come. Now, as a Leader, there’s so much more I can do for this community. I’m glad I was able to play some small part in this place’s history, and I can’t wait to see where we go next.
