August Writing Challenges

Hello, everyone! I’m back (finally), and I have an announcement! I will be hosting a series of writing challenges throughout August and possibly September. Every Friday/Saturday, I will post the challenge, and you will have one week to complete them. When the next challenge is announced, the winners of the previous challenge will be announced. The hashtag for each week will vary, so that entries for different challenges can be found easily. Prizes will consist of a feature on the winning piece for varying lengths of time. Three days for first place, two for second, one for third. This is purely for fun and to (hopefully) inspire you guys to write more, since I don’t see many writers here. With that out of the way, let’s move on to this week’s challenge.

For this challenge, I want you to put a unique spin on the “hero knight slays the dragon” trope. Feel free to go in any direction you want, as long as it doesn’t violate the [Guidelines]. Now, on to the rules.

Rules:

1. All entries must be at least 3 paragraphs long. Break up the text so it isn’t just one huge text wall.

2. Tag your entry with the hashtag #AWC1 so it can be found and reviewed.

3. Make sure your post does not violate the [Guidelines]. If it does, it will be disqualified.

4. Have your entry in before Friday, August 10. Any late entries will not be counted.
