♡ Love Yourself ♡

My riding story:

I started riding when I was 9(grade 3), when my sister did. I had always loved horses, and I was always looking forward to my weekly lesson! I started on an adorable pony named Flower, who taught me the ropes, and let me learn from my mistakes. I loved to ride her bareback and on trails. My first time jumping Flower, I fell off🙃. I immediately got up and back on and when my trainer asked if I wanted to try again, I smiled and said yes. Once I was getting a bit tall for Flower(a small pony), I moved on to a new trainer and horse. This horse was named NIMBY(yes, in all caps), and taught me so much! He was a chestnut thoroughbred gelding who was my trainers event horse when she was a teenager. I improved a lot on him, but started riding another horse named Blondie. Blondie was a grey quarter horse mare(who wanted to be a bay :smiling_imp: ), owned by a lady at my barn. She was mainly western, but I enjoyed riding out on the trail with her. Soon, my trainer got a new horse, a black and white 13.2 hh pony gelding, Rio. I rode Rio and NIMBY both after that, and my riding continued to improve. Later, my trainer moved barns, and then bought a new horse, Oliver. Oliver was a 16.3 hh chestnut Dutch Warmblood gelding. After riding him for a while, I started a half lease on him. However, due to injury, he could no longer canter or jump, and was too much horse for me. Oliver taught me so much, and is still one of my favorite horses. I eventually started riding Holly, a 17 hh dark bay OTTB. She would get very strong, especially at the canter, but I slowly gained confidence and ability to ride her. I did a lot of cool things with Holly, such as taking her on her first trail! In December, 2017, the locations were at was no longer working, and we moved to a small, beautiful property. However, the location was too far away, and did not have the facilities we needed, so we ended up moving after about 2-3 months. We were now at my current barn, which I love! It is absolutely beautiful, and I feel so lucky to get to ride there! Unfortunately, both Holly and my former lease horse, Oliver, were sold. I went back to riding Rio, and started improving much faster than before. Riding a pony has thought me a lot, and I am such a better rider because of it! I am now too tall for Rio, and no longer ride him. For about a year, I was at a new barn and riding a hunter mare Bella, a jumper named Ian, and another hunter, Glow. Bella is a dark bay mare. I don’t know her exact hight, but she was a small/medium horse. I wasn’t able to ride her too often, because she had what we think is arthritis in her hind legs even though she is young. Glow is a 2002 chestnut Hanoverian gelding. He did 4’ hunters on the A circuit when he was younger, as well as eq. He was also a Smartpack bridle model! I mostly flatted and did dressage with him because he injured his tendon (that’s what ended his show career). Ian is a bay gelding, who’s breed I don’t know but it is either warmblood or thoroughbred. He currently competes with his owner on the A circuit. So after that I moved to new barn! I rode a 17.1 hh gelding named Andy. Andy competed in Grand Prix showjumping when he was younger, but now is quite happy jumping 3ft. He is super sweet and always striving to succeed. He has big gaits and can get very strong at times. He loves food, a bath on a hot day, and showing off.

Currently, I’m at yet another new barn and I’m riding a hanoverian gelding named Fame! He’s 16.2-16.3 hh and I do equitation with him. He’s definitely more on the forward side, and loves to jump.

Haha people pronounce it wrong all the time. I was trying to think of how to explain but just think of saying lasagna but without the “laz” part
