“Maria, what family are you from?” Elsa asked, her eyes were bloodshot
Anna paused, “the Salvadorian family,” she lied on the spot.
“Haven’t heard of you,” Elsa leaned back.
“Our family is from overseas and we recently came here.”
“I see. Maria, your tasks are right here,” Elsa handed Anna a piece of paper filled with tasks.
She looked down the list, it had things that she never had to worry about like cleaning the floors and doing laundry.
While she was doing laundry in the Queen’s room, she saw what she was doing to herself. The bottles, the vomit, the frost on the walls. On her bed was the book, open on a page about a cult of people who worshiped them as Gods. This cult has been hunted down by the royal family for centuries.
There was a recent note about this, “this may be the reason for the former King’s death. A carefully constructed assasination by the crown. Unfortunately they didn’t take into the heirs to the throne.”
It wasn’t signed but the ink seemed relatively new like it was just written.
“Those cultists went down with the ship,” a man said in the doorway, “some went down with the ship but the rest is in the underbelly of this castle.”
She recognized the voice as the head butler, Amaris.
“Some of these cultists want those with the power to rule and conquer the world. The Black Hand is designed not to let that happen,” he slowly came in and flipped to another page.
“The Black Hand is an organization founded under the late King Alcius II of Arendelle. A group of cryomancers who swore an oath to the crown, they are made to protect and serve the crown on any affairs relating to their own race and the emergence of any religious zealots,” it wrote on the page, “the are sworn to protect the crown at all costs, even risking their lives and exposing the truth.”
