Fashion in Color

Hello Everyone~

After checking out the most recent challenge of #crownsandcorsets, I decided to finally give it a go! I’ve been itching to play with acrylic paints as the medium and to play with color! Because of this, I decided to draw and paint women of the world of GoT to represent each color of the wheel. What a fun (and very time consuming) little project, but have to say I am quite happy with the results. Without further ado, let’s get to it.

The Queen of the Ashes, fitting for Daenerys herself, wearing black in this “dragon-esque” dress that to me resembles some of her pieces that she has worn in the show. I gave Dany a halter top dress, with a keyhole neckline (because who doesn’t like bewbs?) In addition, I added an “armor like” neck/shoulder piece and also loose sleeves that I tried to translate into a mesh-like, see through fabric. Lastly, I added some rouging in the waistline to accentuate it. As you can see, no feet! She was my trial and error and once I got carried away, I realized there was no space left for her feet :sweat_smile:

For a modern take of fashion, I gave Arya an outfit that she’d be able to wear during wintertime, while still maintaining a sleek and non-frumpy attire. I first gave her a turtleneck and with it , an overalls jumpsuit with jogger-like styled ankle pants, and ankle boots with a killer “pointy” heel 🗡, and a chain belt as an accessory. Though perhaps the boots is not something Arya would go for if she were to live in our world, I still think it ties the look together. Thoughts?

For Briennes’s modern take, I gave her a blue suit for her tomboy-ish style that will also be easier for her to fight it lol. In addition, I gave her some black combat boots and a bat (as a replacement for a sword) for obvious reasons. Don’t cross her path! The color blue is in representation for the Sapphire islands where she is from and what her eyes are described as.

Margery’s dress is has very similar accents to those she wears in the show such as the plunging neckline, rose belt, and fabric which is more of a light material. In my take, I wanted to make her even sexier with a thigh slit and some sparkles because why not? Let’s just not question the color of her shoes... I was not bothered :sweat_smile: her dress was inspired by my favorite fashion designer, Elie Saab :heart:

The golden lion herself is wearing an almost pageant-like, red carpet gown which goes well with her royalty and nobility. The gown is a mermaid dress with thick straps, adjusted waist, and bedazzled of course. Holding the crown on top of her head, Cersei is a Queen without a doubt.

One of my favorites among the bunch, Ellaria Is wearing a halter top dress, with an exposed waistline on the sides. Dornish women cannot be completely covered! The skirt was inspired by South Asian garments such as the lehenga. Time didn’t allow me to add sparkles, accessories or any shiny thing, but know that I had that in mind!

My red queen is wearing simply a more sexed up version of her usual red priestess garb. More is more right? Also more bewbs. Her sleeves are supposed to be billowy and off the shoulder. She has a sweetheart neckline and two slits to accentuate those legs. Couldn’t be bothered with the shoes once again.. should’ve taken that into consideration haha. :heart:

For Missandei, the button up dress that I gave her was 70’s inspired. I seeing lots of denim dresses in that decade so why not make it pink? Her curly fro really adds on to the aesthetic. She has buttons from top to bottom, closed toe strap heels (I acknowledged the shoes this time!), and pull strings around her waist to accentuate it even further.

Last but not least, the northern gal, Sansa. To continue in being in theme, Sansa in white not only represents her “innocence” and “purity” (not anymore :eyes: ), but also representative of the winter snow. With her outfit, I’m going to be honest I was quite lazy with it, but I kept the winter theme in mind by giver her a loose fitting sweater, tucked in a skirt with thigh high boots, because who cares if the 5 inches of leg that’s revealed gets cold right?

Time it took me was roughly MANY hours and many days in between. The challenge inspired me to get drawing again and also use the opportunity to play with acrylics as a medium since it’s not one I use often. Hope you guys enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed making it!
