As Family United!

Hi everyone so here’s a small intro about my short story today. This is my first post for the Creative Club. The theme was freestyle. Since I’m a writer I’m doing a fic that’s a sequel to A Dragon Dreamers Winter! :two_hearts:

Five moons later saw the birth of Jace and Helaenas second set of twins Little Laenor and Alicent. Due to the high stress of her pregnancy they had opted to remain in the red keep for the remainder of it. Helaena had gone into labor the night of Rhaenyra’s coronation and had finally given birth in the early morning the next day. Even though it was his mothers coronation he remained dutifully by Helaenas side. Their parents and other family paced worriedly outside the birthing chamber. The hours dragged on when at the break of dawn two sets of cries broke the silence and everyone let out a breath of relief.

Two months later found Helaena and Rhaena relaxing in the garden with the new babes as Alissa and Visenya played with their uncle Aemond and father Jaecerys. Rhaena had been seeking advice from Helaena as her and Aemond were about to be new parents themselves. Their marriage had been a surprise as many thought she would marry Lucerys but his heart already belonged to Floris Baratheon. Lucerys and Floris were also expecting their first child together. Rhaenyra and Alicent were bursting with joy as more grandchildren were born.

As the children and men played about Rhaena leaned over and whispered “Will it be easy. I am nervous on whether or not I will be a good mother. Aemond is also worried if he will be a good father.” Helaena gave her hand a squeeze. She understood their fears especially since they also worried if the babes egg would hatch. Rhaena had claimed Grey Ghost when she was thirteen and Aemond Sheep Stealer at the same age. Helaena thought long before responding “It will go at its own pace. Parenthood is not easy or predictable. I understand your fears. Jace and I worried we had failed when the girls eggs went cold. But Rhaenyra and my mother assured me we hadn’t. Our girls just hadn’t met their intended dragons yet.”

Helaena hoped these words assured her good sister. Rhaena smiled and gave a grateful squeeze back. Eventually they all returned to the keep to prepare for dinner. Laenor and Alicent were fed and then put to sleep as Helaena assisted in getting the girls ready. Deeming them ready the little family walked to the dining room where the girls were immediately taken by their grandparents and spoiled as the family all ate together. While the family ate a familiar song began to play. Smiling softly Jace held his hand out to Helaena as Aemond did the same for Rhaena. Alicent and Rhaenyra smiled softly as they danced happy they had managed to reconcile.

Alicent looked around at her family as the children danced. Joffery was playing with Alissa and Visenya as Laenor talked to Laena. Little Laenor and Alicent slept soundly down the hall. Next to her Daemon and Rhaenyra were speaking. She knew the other children would be back soon. She was thankful she had this and hated to think what would have happened if she had listened to her father.
