This will be for your #HCW3.  For this workshop, we are creating our own set of runes!  For part 3 of HCW3, we will now be deg what our rune pieces will look like.

Brainstorming Designs

Step One

After making our rune symbols and their meanings, we are now going to create what our rune pieces will look like!  Will they be plain and simple or decorative and colorful?  Here is where we can figure that out!  Go ahead and settle in, get comfy, and let's get thinking.  If your runes are based off of a specific piece of media, would you also want to base the overall design to be based off that media?  If your runes are based off of magickal creatures, will they be iridescent like a unicorn or metallic like dragons?  If you need to, jot some design ideas down and try to picture them as your completed rune set.  Will the idea actually translate to your rune pieces?

Choosing Our Design

Step Two

Now that you've picked a design, let's start sketching it out!  Here you can start adding color with paints, colored pencils, or markers.  Will these be adding meaning to your runes or are they just for decoration?  Go ahead and take as much time as you need here to settle on a final design for your rune pieces.  Keep in mind how the design will transfer to the material the pieces will be made from.  For example, I'm just going to be using the plain rune symbols on my material in order to keep the execution simple and effective.
