𝙳𝚊𝚢 2. 𝙶𝚑𝚒𝚋𝚕𝚒 𝚌𝚑𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚎𝚗𝚐𝚎

Day 2. Favourite Ghibli movie and why?

My favourite Ghibli movie has to be Whisper of the Heart which I belive I've said before :D

I have many reasons why this movie is an absolute favourite of mine. All of the Ghibli movies I've seen are amazing and other movies that I consider to be close to being my favourite are Spirited Away, From Up on Poppy Hill and Ponyo.

Unlike Spirited Away and Ponyo that are well known movies, I hadn't heard of Whisper of the Heart before. I'm not a person who reads every single review before watching a movie so I had no expectations for this movie.

Because I never thought that this movie would mean so much to me, it had a bigger impact on me when I first watched it.

Beauty of Ghibli movies comes as no surprise to anyone, but that even a slow paced movie of a girl writing a book is this beautiful was a little surprising for me. What adds to beauty is that I belive we see the world so beautiful, because it's Shizukus imaginative eyes that are seeing everything.

This brings me to another reason why I love this movie, which is the main character Shizuku. I don't want to talk about her too much since she probably will come up later in this challenge.

Shizuku is a very relatable character for me since I also would love to write a book one day and I have a great imagination like her. So this movie being about her writing her first book was very meaningful for me and really inspired me aswell.

I love how you see parts of her book in the movie because of her imagination.

And of course I thought that the romance between Shizuku and Seiji was adorable. It really added so much to the story and made it really interesting.

Shizukus and Seijis fun and a little annoying personalities fit together very well and can't feel anything but happy when I see them together. I enjoyed watching them fall in love a little more each time they were on the screen together.

Whisper of the Heart is a very big comfort movie for me (which can be said for most of the Ghibli movies). This movie warms my heart everytime I watch it and really makes me appreciate the smallest things in life like chasing a cat to a magical shop or running down the stairs with new story ideas in your head.

I belive that Whisper of the Heart isn't a movie for everyone, but It's definetly a movie for me :heartpulse:
