I would have to say My Neighbor Totoro as one of them, a family summer road trip to the countryside! To visit there mom at the hospital, the nature which comes out in Summer! The beautiful flowers... the trees, the forests! Ther all connected to the nature of Summer! And we can’t forget Totoro! And where crops like vegetable and fruit are ready to harvest, streams of rivers... the joy freely to run about outside. This movie really does remind me of Summer!
Another movie which reminds me of Summer is When Marnie Was There. I think this movie could almost be set in the Summer holidays, for which when Anna was took to visit her cousins. And during that trip, she met many more new people. And I think it’s the experience of staying at a new place in the Summer holidays, and growing a bond of the people there! As we see the progression of Anna meeting many people on her journey. Specially.... Marnie...
Kiki’s Delivery Service also remind me of Summer! As we get the scene of Kiki lying on the grass... listening the ten radio, as nature really comes about in Summer! The beautiful flowers... it really reminds me of Summer! And also like When Marnie Was There, it’s also like a Summer vacation trip, as Kiki is off to do witch training. And find a home, as she visits many people on her journey. There isn’t much to say, but given by the vibe of this movie. It could seem like it’s based in Summer!
The last I must mention, Is Spirited Away, we only get to see the outside a bit in the movie. But I would say judging from the outside, it reminds me of Summer! And again a Summer road trip to Chihiro going to her new house!! Seeing the grass swift by, the clear blue sky... it really gives me a Summer vibe! As Chihiro visits many on her journey.... she stumbles to a enchanting mystical world, she is unknown to.
