Naivety

As you stand before me,

With that look on your face.

“I don't recognize you.”

Is what it really says.

If only my face was enough to convey.

"Don't you know who brought forth this change”

Unfortunately this conversation,

Is not one I'll ever have.

Name me a coward,

But I'm still afraid to loose what I never had.

Confrontations are my fear,

For they still hold enough power,

Showing me a reality's face I'd never dare.

I wish to be naive,

This once at least.

Hoping for it to be the last,

For, for you, my heart still bleeds.
