Smith is most definitely the underdog of the final 4 drivers. He can use the underdog mentality to win the championship.

2. He Is Good At Phoenix

In Smith’s only start at Phoenix he finishes 5th in the Xfinity Race last fall. Phoenix is a track that suits him which can help him win his 1st championship.

3. He Is A Rookie

Smith has already greatly exceeded expectations. He doesn’t need to put extra pressure on himself to win the championship which can give him an advantage as he won’t be under a ton of pressure like some of the other drivers may be.

1. He Has 2 Teammates In The Final 4

Smith won’t get the outright best truck GMS has since they need to give 3 drivers great trucks. This will hurt the overall performance on the truck as they had to put focus into 3 trucks instead of 1.

2. He Is Hit Or Miss

Like his teammate Creed he can be very hit or miss. Smith can have a good truck and be up front or he has a mediocre truck and is a non factor.

3. He Has Been The Worst Of The Final 4

Smith has consistently been the worst performing of the final 4 drivers. He is often a step behind them and he may not be able to keep up with the other 3.
