Why Grant Enfinger Will And Won’t Win The 2020 Truck Series Championship

1. He Has Been Really Good At Short Tracks This Year

In the 3 short track races this season Enfinger has won 2 of them and finished 6th at the other.

2. He Can Be Aggressive

He is the only ThorSport truck in the final 4. If he needs to be aggressive around the other 3 he can and won’t cause an inter team rivalry.

3. He Is The Only ThorSport Truck In The Final 4

Enfinger is the only ThorSport truck in the final 4 which means he will get the outright best equipment while GMS need to divide it up more. He also has a team that has won multiple championships including last year’s championship.

Why Grant Enfinger Won’t Win The 2020 Truck Series Championship

1. He Has Been Inconsistent

Like most the truck drivers this season he has been very hit or miss. He has had races that he is one of the best trucks and finishes top 5 or he is out of the equation entirely. He needs to have a good run Friday to win it all.

2. This Has Been His Worst Season Stat Wise

While this doesn’t mean a ton in today’s format it is worth noting that this is his worse season stat wise at ThorSport. He has the 2nd least amount of top 5s and has the least amount of top 10s. He also has the least amount of laps completed. He hasn’t been as consistent as other years and if he can’t get in done then why will he be able to get it done now.

3. GMS Racing Has Been Really Good

GMS has been by far the best team this year and I don’t know if ThorSport can straight up outperform them. GMS has had a leg up on ThorSport this year so Enfinger will most likely have slightly worse equipment than the GMS guys. Also that he is prone to engine failures in the playoffs.
