Warning: Mention of smoking.
Hello! I’m Nour and I come from Lebanon. Although I don’t live there anymore I’d love to share some facts about my beautiful country full of culture.
Where are you from? Tell me some interesting facts about your country too.

1- It Is Home To The Oldest City Worldwide.

The world’s oldest city, which Byblos still inhabits, is just twenty miles from Beirut. Byblos is one of the oldest Phoenician cities that has been inhabited since 10,000-4500 BC or the Neolithic period.
2- It is home to a cave that was considered one of the seven wonders of the world: Jeita Grotto.

The Jeita Grotto is a system of two separate, but interconnected, karstic limestone caves spanning an overall length of nearly 9 kilometres.
3- Lebanese Cuisine is one of the best in the World.

From healthy options full of fresh greens, to a full on grill of meat and chicken, rice dishes, chickpeas, and pastries… Lebanese cuisine is one of the best in the world. Go ahead and search for a restaurant near you and try it! Lebanese Shawarma is one of the best.
4- It’s home to a great Roman ruin. Baalbek Temple.

Possibly the best outside Rome. The Baalbek Temple, or Temple of Bacchus, is one of the best-preserved and grandest Roman temple ruins in the world. Located in the Al-biqā (Bekaa Valley), the temple complex became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984.
5-Shisha/Hookah/Nargile is found almost everywhere!

Smoking is a way of life in Lebanon. The country has the third most amount of smokers in the world per capita. Shisha is a lifestyle and a way to unwind. Disclaimer: I’m in no way encouraging smoking (although I am one) but this is part of Lebanese culture.
Thank you for reading! There’s a lot more facts I can mention about Lebanon. If I find a lot of interest I will certainly post more.
Till next time,
Nour :blue_heart:
