Which I'm fully aware that this game was peak when it came to the story, and especially, regarding the relationship between Max and Cloe. Overall this story-based, choice equals consequence game has had me immersed in rewinding time.
I believe if someone sat next to me would probably get annoyed and say, "Well...can you pick already?"
I'll be like, "No! I want to see all the dialogue options and reactions to make my final decisions."
*** Rewind excessively***
So, I've been taking a break from action games. Mostly because I'm still suffering from minor withdrawals from working towards sobriety, and other events in my life that are gonna test my will and endurance to stay off the poison.
Life is skilled at throwing bricks when I work towards bettering my well-being. Some people will call that karma. I have a cesspool of karma if I put in the Eastern standard. My personal standard is that I'm just cursed to high-hell. But it does make me reflect on that.
So far, what the game brings to the table is having me care about my choices and that the story is hard-pulling on the heartstrings. It's not frustrating to play, but it invokes a sense of wanting to feel something and think. It has me care. I also get to see how they represent LGBTQ+ characters, especially knowing it was difficult back then to introduce those storylines into a game as the main protagonist. Usually, we were just side characters with no depth.
I love it.
