With no exceptions at all, each and every student that attends Hogwarts gets sorted into one of the four seperate Houses: Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Slytherin, Gryffindor. In short the four Houses each symbolise different personality traits that everyone may posess, and whichever traits are most prevalent to you, determin the House you shall be placed into.

Now of course if a character is placed into Hufflepuff, it does not mean that they only hold those particular traits in their soul such as patience and modesty. A Hufflepuff student may be cunning and determined like a Slytherin, but their instincts will always naturally flow to those of a Hufflepuff. This of course is a rule that follows each student in any of the Hogwarts Houses, this being said, when we view the characters individually it is always paramount which House they belong to.

It is a very good idea to never forget where they were placed at the beginning of their first year as this is a brilliant indicator to each characters true nature. No matter how they may act or want others to view them, knowing what House a character belongs to means that they will never be able to hide their true intentions or thoughts.

MOD

Cornelius Fudge was one of the many Ministers Of Magic. It just so happened that he was the Minister at the time of the Dark Lord Voldemort's return to power between the two wizarding wars. If being Minister wasn't already a hard enough and complicated job with not only the magical world at your fingertips, but also some small responsabilities regarding the muggle world, having to deal with the supposed return of one of the most dangerous wizards would have surely been the cherry on top of an already crumbling cake.

This being said, Cornelius dealt with the entire situation in the complete wrong way, leading to him at the end being painted as a bad person in his role. One of the biggest and most prideful paths he chose to follow, was that of ignorance. He simply chose to ignore all of the warning signs and evidence that pointed at Voldemort's return, instead pretending that it did not exist.

Choosing to keep the public in the dark ist the growing rumours was beyond reckless and uncaring as by the time Cornelius acknowledged the truth, only after seeing the Dark Lord with his own eyes, it was too late to deal with it properly. Not enough time to plan or put measures in place that could have potentially saved lives that were lost.

MOD

As a Squib, being born into a magical world within a magical family, being surrounded by spells and charms daily would be a blessing, but also a curse at the same time. For anyone born to a magical family, having magic integrated into everyday life would seem normal whereas an entier muggle existence would seem a very foreign concept. So, being unable to use or experience magic at all as a Squib, would surely be a torturous experience.

This being said, Squibs are usually encouraged to attend muggle schools and integrate into the none magical world. This is quite a kind way to treat them, it shows that keeping them trapped in a world surrounded by magic that they can never use is not the only option. This same train of thought also goes for their education - at least in Scotland. At Hogwarts, Squibs are prohibited from attending as students due to it being rather irrelevant for them to learn skills that they will never be able to put into practice.

Instead, they are encouraged to attend muggle schools. This would mean that they could learn a whole different set of skills to aid them in a healthy and happy life in the muggle world, surrounded be others who may not know about magic, but are exactly the same in their set of abilities.

Gilderoy Lockhart was supposedly many things leading to him being known as a famous and accomplished wizard. He was in reality, however, a lying and manipulative coldhearted man. He used memory charm after memory charm on truly heroic and inventive witches and wizards, claiming all of their accomplished actions as his own. Despite these very strong charms Lockhart was able to produce, all other magical skills within him were swindled and limited leaving the man very self-conscious, vain and protective of himself.

By the time of Harry Potter's second year at Hogwarts, Gilderoy was caught out in his lying habits and was unable to evade consequences. One of his strong memory charms backfired, leaving him with a scrambled mind. This whole situation was beyond ironic considering the acts he had carried out throughout his life, and so were very well deserved.

Getting a taste of his own medicine may sound like quite a harsh punishment initially, but when you think about the sheer number of people he both physically and mentally hurt with his vanity, he himself suffering his own actions was a small consequence - he would have most probably gone on to hurt many more people over the following years.

Albus Dumbledore was the only heaster at Hogwarts that we truly got to see and learn about. His actions in a few places were rather questionable and while some could simply be put down to him being a slightly eccentric and odd man, some were quite dangerous. That's not even mentioning the entire school year that he was not even present. He manipulated a lot of students lives and hired some questionable proffesors, someone who would not even think about doing these things however, was Minerva McGonagall.

Minerva was known for her kindness aswell as fairness to students, she wasn't prejudice to her own House as she treated all of the children the same - regardless of her own opinions or thoughts. She followed the rules and wanted nothing more than to protect the students and ensure that they had a safe time while studying at Hogwarts.

Whilst the students were at the top of her list of priorities, as I just mentioned, the schooling system and rules were also aspects that she valued. Following the rules herself and keeping an eye on the proffesors doing the same, would have lead to McGonagall being a very well rounded heaster.

A Gryffindor student would hold the traits of courage and bravery very paramount within their soul alongside others. Holding true to these personally traits would be something they would do unconsciously, whereas other house traits like the cunning and self-preservation of a Slytherin would either not be there at all or just not as strong. This is the exact opposite case for Severus Snape, a student of the Slytherin House who fit in perfectly and deserved to be placed there.

Severus may have done courageous acts throughout his life, however his Slytherin traits were very strong and powerful. For example, he was a very cunning man. He decieved many people throughout the years with his ability to hide the truth aswell as his mastery of the Dark Arts.

Loyalty was prehaps his largest trait. Not loyalty to the Death Eaters or loyalty to the Order of the Phoenix, but loyalty to Lily Evans, the girl he had loved his entire life. Even after they went their seperate ways, Severus' loyalty to her never wavered, not even once. He stayed true to her untill her end aswell as his own.

There is a system at Hogwarts school known as the House Point system, this is a sort of event that runs the duration of each school year where every student has the opportunity to gain and loose points for their own House. By the end of the year, the total points are announced and a winner is gifted the House cup - although having the win is something to be very proud and prideful of for the students aswell!

This system however is not all fun and games as the devotion to leading your House to the win can get a bit deadly with students potentially trying to sabotage students of rival Houses or even take time away from their own studies in order to figure out a way to gain more points.

With points only allowed to be granted or deducted by certain of faculty, you would be under the impression all points were dealt with in a fair way. This however may not always be the case as the proffesors could very easily be bias towards their own previous Houses or maybe even have their own vendettas against certian students or Houses. The entire system itself is not necessary to the students education and in some instances can do the complete opposite, taking the students away from their studies.

The overall premise of the Harry Potter series is s fight between good and bad. Harry himself and Lord Voldemort facing off until in a finale only one is left standing. This of course would not have been the case if Harry Potter himself did not attempt time after time to stop Voldemort in the path to destruction.

The young boy truly was a burden to the immortality obsessed dark wizard, constantly being a hindrance and foiling Voldemort's plans leading to his eventual downfall. There were so man things that Harry did which tripped Voldemort up. In his first year at Hogwarts, he prevented the Dark Lord from obtaining the philosopher's stone which set him back in his journey to destroy Harry and regain his power.

There wasn't really too much that he did that aided Voldemort's return, as the sheer fact that he had part of the dark wizards soul inside of him was prehaps the biggest set back that Voldemort could have ever faced.

As a proffesor who taught Potions at Hogwarts and a previous Slytherin student himself, Horace Slughorn was a very dedicated and knowledgeable man. Having been a teacher at the school on two seperate occasions, Horace was no stranger the countless questions that students had and knew how to deal with misbehaving and issues.

This being said, when Tom Riddle back in 1941 approached his proffesor and asked him about horcruxs, to say that Slughorn was caught off guard would be an understatement. Dark magic and the dark arts were not his department, but what harm is there in informing a student about lesser known areas of magic? Horace did not do anything wrong when he explained to Tom what horcruxs were even clarifying that the entire conversation was hyperthetical.

By explaining what a horcrux was, for all the professor could have know, he was just answering questions of a curious young boy wondering about the world of magic he had been kept from. There was no way at all that he could have known what Tom would go on to do, and none of the Dark Lord's future actions were a consequence of what Horace told him.

MOD

Being part of the rather large and loving Weasley family wasn't always everything it seemed to be. For Percy Weasley he didn't necessarily want more, he just wanted something different which started with him distancing himself from his family with his new ministry job.

With Voldemort's return, the young man chose to side with the Ministry and their views on the entier situation over his own family. The underlying factor was that Percy probably wanted recognition and some form of power and acknowledgement and so stuck with the new group of people he worked with who he hoped would see him for himself and not another Weasley lost in the crown of redheaded wizards and witches.

Being part of such a large family with a well-known reputation would have left Percy feeling as if he was not his own person, that people had already made up the decisions about the sort of person he was bassed off of his name alone. He wanted to be his own person and all he did was follow the path he believed in.
