I have a little something to say and update you all on everything happening. Everything new is just me starting a new journey, I’m not replacing topaz in anyway just wanting to continue further on and feel like this opportunity will be really good for me🥰

So recently at my yard I have been struggling to find a horse I connect well with, there’s not really any horses available anymore only ponies and Andraki is being baited/leased so I can’t ride him no more.

My instructor was kind enough to offer me to bring one of her mares back into work after 4 years of not being ridden🤭 I would be riding her 3 times a week and still riding at my stables 2 times a week so quite a busy week of riding but I ain’t complaining :relieved:

So this horse I’m bringing back into work, her name is Limelight (Lime for short) she used to compete at 1.10m and then was in a stud and had a very cute baby

On my first ride we just rode for a short while as she is unfit but we did flatwork to see if I enjoy her and such and she was really comfortable! She was 4 years fresh and it didn’t feel that way :sweat_smile: not one buck or tantrum

After that ride I spent time with her and taught her how to smile and she caught on sooo quick which made me happy :heart_eyes:

On our next few rides we just worked on small things as we didn’t want to push her too much and land up hurting her so we just took it slow.

We decided that we’d try her in a hackamore because she tosses her head a lot and pulls on bit making you almost lose your arms🥴 :sweat_smile: first ride with it felt soooo good, was more balanced and not so busy with her head. We’ll be trying for a while to see if it’s best, if not we’ll be going back to a soft bit.

After quite a few rides we then did a small jump and she did it soo well :heart_eyes: for not having jumped in years I was quite surprised.

I’m excited to see where her and I get to and I’m hoping it will all be positive!! I am already starting to love her , she has such a sweet and loving personality
