The Renaissance

The Renaissance begin in 1450 in Italia.

Characteristics :

The Renaissance use the antiquity thoughts :

-statues / sculptures

-mosaic

-fresco / painting mural

-mythology

-architecture with an arch

For this period, the human is in the center of the world with the humanism, contrary to the medieval where the God is in the center of the world. All things that come from the medieval are not beautiful.

The Italian cities began rich as Venice or Florence with the commerce with the Asia e Mediterranean Basin.

Florence is rich thanks to a banking system that permit at some families to begin rich as The Medici in Florence. The Medici lead the city e Lorenzo da' Medici created a court with lots of artists who are famous in all Italia.

The first painter of the Renaissance is Giotto. He painted the life of San Francisco d'Assisi. He represented San Francisco on the human wordl unlike as the Church wanted. The Church wanted at this period that the Holy have represented on bleu or gold background.
