Polka-dot Man - Dr. Jimmy Season 2 Episode 8

Hey peeps, it's Jimmy back with another episode of Dr. Jimmy. Today's patient is Abner Krill aka *clears throat* THE POLKA-DOT MAN! One of Batman's first and most dangerous villains, Polka-dot Man has made a name for himself among DC fans. I don't know why some of the audience is saying he's an obscure character, pfft. Get out of here with that disrespect. But how did this colorful fiend come to be, and could he be insane? Let's take a look shall we.

Origins

Though Polka-dot Man is one of the most popular villains in the DC universe, his childhood is still unknown. We meet him when he first starts his crime spree in Detective Comics #4. What a shame, Polka-dot Man was taken too soon from us. Rest in peace Polka-dot fiend. :sob: (His Rebirth and Injustice versions are just carbon copies of the normal version, so no need to talk about them.)

His Drinking Problem

His drinking habits can be linked to Substance-Abuse Disorder.

What Is Substance-Abuse Disorder?

Substance-related disorders are those that involve the use and abuse of different substances, such as alcohol. These disorders may include substance-induced conditions that can result in many associated diagnoses including intoxication, withdrawal, the emergence of psychosis, anxiety, and delirium. Krill often drinks to forget about life, and deal with the pain he still has from rehab. So he would fit the description of substance abuse disorder, since it's effecting his life in a negative way.

My Diagnosis

I believe that Polka-dot Man suffers from a Alcohol-related disorder, which can be attributed to the trauma he went through when Detective Bullock beat him relentlessly.

The Funeral Service

I asked some peeps to make a cameo in this episode and give some departing words for Polka-dot Man.

"Polka Dot Man, he may have been one of those gimmicky and goofy villains from the Silver Age of comics but even today his memory has not been forgotten. It may have been minor but I say he truly did have an impact on DC fans as a whacky character we can either love, hate ir playfully make fun of. At the end of the day Polka-dot man was one of those Batman villains that stood out. So for that he will be missed" - Lord of the Laugh
