so otherworldly, so unfamiliar

that the idea of his love sounded like

a long-forgotten myth

that beguiles the lesser ambitious

to conquer the unknown.

and his touch comes to me

like prophetic dreams carried by cherubs,

absolving me from filth, from sins—

he sits me up a pedestal,

kisses the skin of my feet,

deems my existence divine.

in his eyes, i am beheld with a crown

a halo that never loses glow,

redirecting my shadows, deforms them,

recreates them

into a pair of wings.
