Here and Now

'Yesterday' is forever gone,

And 'Tomorrow' never arrives,

Pine away, until doomsday,

But 'Now' is all that survives.

Think about it deeply,

Sad, but true, those lines,

Its as sure as Hell, we can fortell,

Just as our fat old Sun still shines.

What the heck are we waiting for?

Why hope to relive the past?

The Present tense, so represents,

A love that forbids fore-cast.

'Later please,' is just too damn late,

The future is but for the older,

And  'Last year ago,' so apropos,

Is nothing but a placeholder.

'Now' is the current reality for all,

Today, abide deeply, to the bone,

Live each day, in a contemporary way,

This I Will Know.....and I Know......and I've Known.
