Before she was found guilty of crimes against the state, and beheaded, Gilda the Wise, only 16 years of age, daughter of the well-liked Horatio the Meek, spoke these words, her last, to the crowd at Gilgattroy Prime, under the sky:
In the olden days
The Golden Days
Poetry and books reassured us
About our eventual demise
Michael Fury is at peace
So too will we all be
Six feet under
Graveyards
Like missle silos
Our tombs
To launch our deserving souls to paradise
But what if that unearthly Eden
Is not so unearthly
And not at all for ghosts
But for the living
To be reached during our own single lifetimes
During
Our singular 'brief candles' worth of breaths
Our forebears crawled from slime
For survival
And presto we all have two gifts:
Awareness and Conscious choice
To live like Heaven is on earth
For all to share
Or not.
Which seems less likely?
Human synergy is the key
The key is strung on the chain of kindness
The opposite of Marley's shackles
Forged by simple friendships
And by pride-less trust,
Understanding, and sacrifice
Not the false key that turns under command
To deploy Def Con-3 boom boom bully boys
Freeing all willing and not
Ghosts to God on high
Corrupt Martyr Madness
But rather, the humble key which may unlock
Living humanity's potential
Here and now
Friends
And there was much applause...
