SPOTLIGHT S
└──────⋆⋅🗞⋅⋆ ──────┘
Opening way for this month Spotlight s, we start with a writer that has made quite the show during Spirit Wars and the most recent Inktober. It was with great pleasure that I reached 𝗜𝘃𝘆 to provide a small interview about their path as a member in the community and as a writer overall
Ivy's Interview
𝟷. 𝙷𝚘𝚠 𝚍𝚒𝚍 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚎 𝚊𝚌𝚛𝚘𝚜𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚖𝚞𝚗𝚒𝚝𝚢 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚠𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚖𝚊𝚍𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚢?
I wanted to a new Amino community that matched my interests and I happened to find this one. I stayed because after reading the blogs on the featured page I felt like there are really talented and interesting people here.
𝟸. 𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚋𝚎𝚎𝚗 𝚜𝚘𝚖𝚎 𝚘𝚏 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚏𝚊𝚟𝚘𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚎 𝚖𝚘𝚖𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚜 𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚒𝚗 𝙱&𝚆𝙰?
Community events: I participated in Spirit Wars and it was fun chaos. I also took part in Inktober which was not as much chaos but definitely just as fun. Those were my favorite moments because I felt more connected with this community during these events.
𝟹. 𝙵𝚘𝚛 𝚑𝚘𝚠 𝚕𝚘𝚗𝚐 𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚋𝚎𝚎𝚗 𝚠𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚒𝚗 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚕𝚒𝚏𝚎?
I used to write poetry for fun when I was really young but sort of lost the ability to do it at some point. I started writing again (but in a very different style) in 2018 when I needed to find a way to process some emotions. I have shared some of my writings online since 2021 hoping that people can relate to them or learn something from them.
𝟺. 𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚖𝚘𝚝𝚒𝚟𝚊𝚝𝚎𝚜 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚝𝚘 𝚠𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚎? 𝙸𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚊𝚗𝚢 𝚜𝚘𝚞𝚛𝚌𝚎 𝚘𝚏 𝚒𝚗𝚜𝚙𝚒𝚛𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗?
I think my biggest motivation still is just getting things out of my head so that they stop bugging me, haha. Other motivations include connecting with people, being creative and my dream of writing my own music. All my inspiration comes from real life. My pieces always start as a thought/emotion/experience I’ve had and then I build a fictional story around it.
𝟻. 𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚒𝚜 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚏𝚊𝚟𝚘𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚎 𝚠𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚖𝚎𝚍𝚒𝚞𝚖 (𝚙𝚛𝚘𝚜𝚎, 𝚙𝚘𝚎𝚝𝚛𝚢…)? 𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚔𝚒𝚗𝚍 𝚘𝚏 𝚖𝚎𝚜𝚜𝚊𝚐𝚎𝚜/𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚜 𝚍𝚘 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚝𝚛𝚢 𝚝𝚘 𝚌𝚘𝚗𝚟𝚎𝚢 𝚝𝚑𝚛𝚘𝚞𝚐𝚑 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚠𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐?
At the moment it’s prose. My writing is often about trying to understand things that happen in life and how they affect us, and so far prose has been the best medium for conveying those messages.
𝟼. 𝙰𝚛𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚊𝚗𝚢 𝚙𝚒𝚎𝚌𝚎𝚜 𝚘𝚏 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛𝚜 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚐𝚘𝚝 𝚎𝚡𝚝𝚛𝚎𝚖𝚎𝚕𝚢 𝚙𝚛𝚘𝚞𝚍 𝚘𝚏 𝚠𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐? 𝚆𝚑𝚢?
Honestly not really but for the sake of giving a more interesting answer I thought about the pieces I’ve posted here. I’m proud of a piece called Summer ghost because I was able to capture a very specific feeling, and I’m proud of The unfinished journey because it’s about a topic I wish to bring more awareness to. (chronic illness)
𝟽. 𝙰𝚜 𝚊 𝚠𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚎𝚛, 𝚑𝚘𝚠 𝚍𝚘 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚏𝚎𝚎𝚕 𝚛𝚎𝚐𝚊𝚛𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚎𝚟𝚘𝚕𝚞𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝚏𝚛𝚘𝚖 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚖𝚘𝚖𝚎𝚗𝚝 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚎𝚍 𝚠𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚝𝚘 𝚠𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚗𝚘𝚠?
I think I’ve improved in being more creative. I’ve been trying out different styles of writing and I’ve found a way to turn my personal experiences into something more universal.
𝟾. 𝙰𝚛𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚊𝚗𝚢 𝚙𝚒𝚎𝚌𝚎𝚜/𝚞𝚜𝚎𝚛𝚜/𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚘𝚠𝚎𝚍 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚝𝚘 𝚋𝚎 𝚖𝚘𝚛𝚎 𝚊𝚌𝚝𝚒𝚟𝚎 𝚘𝚛 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚑𝚎𝚕𝚙𝚎𝚍/𝚒𝚗𝚜𝚙𝚒𝚛𝚎𝚍 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚝𝚘 𝚠𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚎 𝚖𝚘𝚛𝚎?
Participating in community events like the aforementioned Spirit Wars and Inktober has helped me a lot!
𝟿. 𝙾𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚗 𝚠𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐, 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚊𝚗𝚢 𝚘𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚊𝚌𝚝𝚒𝚟𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚎𝚜 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚎𝚗𝚓𝚘𝚢 𝚍𝚘𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚒𝚗 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚏𝚛𝚎𝚎 𝚝𝚒𝚖𝚎?
I enjoy anything music and art related. This year I’ve also been trying to get back into reading. The book I’m currently reading is called ”The society for soulless girls” and it has very similar vibes as the Netflix show ”Wednesday”.
𝟷𝟶. 𝙰𝚗𝚢𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚎𝚕𝚜𝚎 𝚝𝚘 𝚊𝚍𝚍?
Thank you staff for interviewing me and for keeping this community going! And thank you to anyone who read this!
≪━─━─━─━─◈─━─━─━─━≫
Next up we follow up with a newer member. 𝗧𝗼𝗺𝗼 ed a little bit over 2 months ago and their incredible pieces and participation in the Fall Readathon did not go unnoticed. With that in mind, here’s what they had to say in response to my questions
Tomo's Interview
𝟷. 𝙷𝚘𝚠 𝚍𝚒𝚍 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚎 𝚊𝚌𝚛𝚘𝚜𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚖𝚞𝚗𝚒𝚝𝚢 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚠𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚖𝚊𝚍𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚢?
I wanted to find a community where I can share the things I write and found B&WA! All of the positivity on here and challenges really made it worthy to stay.
𝟸. 𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚋𝚎𝚎𝚗 𝚜𝚘𝚖𝚎 𝚘𝚏 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚏𝚊𝚟𝚘𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚎 𝚖𝚘𝚖𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚜 𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚒𝚗 𝙱&𝚆𝙰?
I would say mostly the challenges! For example readathons and poetry writing are really fun to do.
𝟹. 𝚁𝚎𝚊𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝙸𝚌𝚎𝚋𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚔𝚎𝚛, 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚌𝚘𝚗𝚜𝚒𝚍𝚎𝚛 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛𝚜𝚎𝚕𝚏 𝚝𝚘 𝚋𝚎 𝚋𝚘𝚝𝚑 𝚊 𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚍𝚎𝚛 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚊 𝚠𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚎𝚛, 𝚝𝚑𝚘𝚞𝚐𝚑 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚞𝚜𝚞𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚢 𝚎𝚗𝚍 𝚞𝚙 𝚠𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚖𝚘𝚛𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚗 𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐. 𝚂𝚘, 𝚠𝚑𝚎𝚗 𝚍𝚒𝚍 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚛𝚝 𝚝𝚘 𝚠𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚎?
I started writing around four years ago. Mostly short stories and a few poems here and there.
𝟺. 𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚖𝚊𝚒𝚗 𝚒𝚗𝚜𝚙𝚒𝚛𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚜 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚙𝚒𝚎𝚌𝚎𝚜?
As main inspirations I mostly use either situations that are going on currently in life or made up things! For example friendships or dreams I have at night.
𝟻. 𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚜𝚘𝚖𝚎 𝚘𝚏 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚏𝚊𝚟𝚘𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚎 𝚙𝚒𝚎𝚌𝚎𝚜 𝚏𝚛𝚘𝚖 𝚢𝚘𝚞? 𝚆𝚑𝚢?
Some of my favorite pieces from myself: Cocoa & Coffee. Those three are really significant and hold a lot of meaning to me.
𝟼. 𝚁𝚎𝚐𝚊𝚛𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐, 𝚝𝚎𝚕𝚕 𝚞𝚜 𝚊 𝚕𝚒𝚝𝚝𝚕𝚎 𝚋𝚒𝚝 𝚊𝚋𝚘𝚞𝚝 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚙𝚛𝚎𝚏𝚎𝚛𝚎𝚗𝚌𝚎𝚜. 𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚔𝚒𝚗𝚍 𝚘𝚏 𝚋𝚘𝚘𝚔𝚜 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚐𝚎𝚗𝚛𝚎𝚜 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚒𝚗𝚝𝚘?
I read a lot of classics and poetry! Genres like fiction and philosophy are also great!
𝟽. 𝙳𝚘 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚎𝚗𝚓𝚘𝚢 𝚛𝚎𝚟𝚒𝚎𝚠𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚋𝚘𝚘𝚔𝚜? 𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚒𝚜 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚋𝚘𝚘𝚔 𝚛𝚎𝚟𝚒𝚎𝚠𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚙𝚛𝚘𝚌𝚎𝚜𝚜?
I don’t really enjoy reviewing books.
𝟾. 𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚏𝚊𝚟𝚘𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚎 𝚋𝚘𝚘𝚔𝚜 𝙰𝙽𝙳 𝚠𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚠𝚊𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚋𝚘𝚘𝚔 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚠𝚘𝚞𝚕𝚍 𝚗𝚘𝚝 𝚛𝚎𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚖𝚎𝚗𝚍 𝚝𝚘 𝚊𝚗𝚢𝚘𝚗𝚎? (𝚒𝚏 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚒𝚜 𝚊𝚗𝚢)
I currently don’t have any favorite books! I think you should just read whatever you are interested in reading!
𝟿. 𝙾𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚗 𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚠𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐, 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚊𝚗𝚢 𝚘𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚊𝚌𝚝𝚒𝚟𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚎𝚜 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚎𝚗𝚓𝚘𝚢 𝚍𝚘𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚒𝚗 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚏𝚛𝚎𝚎 𝚝𝚒𝚖𝚎?
Other activities that I enjoy are playing instruments (bass and piano mostly), and just listening to music a lot!
𝟷𝟶. 𝙰𝚗𝚢𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚎𝚕𝚜𝚎 𝚝𝚘 𝚊𝚍𝚍?
I haven’t been really active with writing in October because of personal reasons! I will write more in the next months!
≪━─━─━─━─◈─━─━─━─━≫
And finally, a who has been in the spotlight for quite a long time, both in writing and in modding. I thought it criminal to not have a like 𝗣𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗲𝘁 as our prestigious third Spotlight . He gladly accepted my request and here are his answers
Puppet's Interview
𝟷. 𝙷𝚘𝚠 𝚍𝚒𝚍 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚎 𝚊𝚌𝚛𝚘𝚜𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚖𝚞𝚗𝚒𝚝𝚢 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚠𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚖𝚊𝚍𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚢?
I was told I needed to start writing for therapeutic reasons. So I searched writing and ed three communities. I was scared to post or interact with anyone for a long time. Once I started being active I found the people here were accepting and warm. They made me feel comfortable and they encouraged me to keep writing. The people here kept me here. The way they gave me helpful criticism helped me grow. I owe so much to this community.
𝟸. 𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚋𝚎𝚎𝚗 𝚜𝚘𝚖𝚎 𝚘𝚏 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚏𝚊𝚟𝚘𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚎 𝚖𝚘𝚖𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚜 𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚒𝚗 𝙱&𝚆𝙰?
My favorite things here are the competitions. Spirit Wars, the life cycle challenge and Inktober. I can't resist these challenges. The best moment for me though, hands down, was when I was chosen to be a curator. I was beyond excited.
𝟹. 𝚆𝚑𝚎𝚗 𝚍𝚒𝚍 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚍𝚒𝚜𝚌𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚛 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚕𝚒𝚔𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝚠𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐?
Funny enough, I was never into it until I was told to try it by my therapist. I wrote my first small, small, short story, and as bad as it was, it felt good. I was proud of what I've done. I suppose that's when the fire lit inside. So about three years ago, lol.
𝟺. 𝚆𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚍𝚘 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚏𝚒𝚗𝚍 𝚖𝚘𝚝𝚒𝚟𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝚝𝚘 𝚠𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚎?
Sometimes it's hard and I just don't want to. I can go months with nothing, no ideas. But then a tiny little idea hits me and I can't stop. Prompts are huge motivators, so are challenges.
𝟻. 𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝'𝚜 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚖𝚘𝚜𝚝 𝚙𝚛𝚎𝚏𝚎𝚛𝚛𝚎𝚍 𝚝𝚢𝚙𝚎 𝚘𝚏 𝚠𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐 (𝚜𝚝𝚘𝚛𝚒𝚎𝚜, 𝚙𝚘𝚎𝚖𝚜, 𝚎𝚝𝚌.) 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚠𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚔𝚒𝚗𝚍 𝚘𝚏 𝚐𝚎𝚗𝚛𝚎𝚜 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚖𝚘𝚜𝚝 𝚒𝚗𝚝𝚘 𝚠𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐?
I enjoy writing short stories. I'm not too good at poems, even though I keep trying. But stories help me escape reality, same as reading.
𝟼. 𝙰𝚛𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚊𝚗𝚢 𝚙𝚒𝚎𝚌𝚎𝚜 𝚘𝚏 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛𝚜 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚊𝚠𝚊𝚛𝚍 𝚊𝚜 𝚏𝚊𝚟𝚘𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚎𝚜?
I would have to say Snowy Nights. Those two I'm most proud of.
𝟽. 𝙰𝚛𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚊𝚗𝚢 𝚙𝚒𝚎𝚌𝚎𝚜/𝚞𝚜𝚎𝚛𝚜/𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚘𝚠𝚎𝚍 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚝𝚘 𝚋𝚎 𝚖𝚘𝚛𝚎 𝚊𝚌𝚝𝚒𝚟𝚎 𝚘𝚛 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚑𝚎𝚕𝚙𝚎𝚍/𝚒𝚗𝚜𝚙𝚒𝚛𝚎𝚍 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚝𝚘 𝚠𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚎 𝚖𝚘𝚛𝚎?
I would definitely say Inktober helps me write a lot more. I recommend this challenge to anyone, rather you write regularly or have trouble finding something to write. Being in a challenge has always made me feel like I absolutely have to write something. I would also like to say that a very special someone encourages me daily to write. She's my biggest fan and she kills me with how excited she gets about my characters. Another thing that helps me keep writing is when people take the time to comment on my posts. Even one sentence makes a difference.
𝟾. 𝚈𝚘𝚞 𝚊𝚕𝚜𝚘 𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚜𝚘𝚖𝚎 𝚠𝚒𝚔𝚒𝚜 𝚜𝚑𝚘𝚠𝚌𝚊𝚜𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚘𝚛𝚒𝚐𝚒𝚗𝚊𝚕 𝚌𝚑𝚊𝚛𝚊𝚌𝚝𝚎𝚛𝚜. 𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝’𝚜 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚏𝚊𝚟𝚘𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚊𝚋𝚘𝚞𝚝 𝚌𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝙾𝙲𝚜?
Oh no, you had to go there XD. I absolutely LOVE making new characters! It's one of my favorite things to do. I adore thinking about their personalities and clicks. I love the freedom of making someone unique and then torturing them 🤣 I literally spend 4 to 5 hours just writing their wikis, because I need to really think about who they are and how they would handle certain things. I'm really good at getting into their heads and 'being them'. I have so many ideas floating around my head for new oc's.
𝟿. 𝚈𝚘𝚞'𝚟𝚎 𝚋𝚎𝚎𝚗 𝚊 𝚌𝚞𝚛𝚊𝚝𝚘𝚛 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝚊𝚕𝚖𝚘𝚜𝚝 𝟹 𝚢𝚎𝚊𝚛𝚜. 𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚖𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚍 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚝𝚘 𝚓𝚘𝚒𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚝𝚎𝚊𝚖 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚑𝚘𝚠 𝚠𝚘𝚞𝚕𝚍 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚍𝚎𝚜𝚌𝚛𝚒𝚋𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚖𝚘𝚍𝚎𝚛𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝚎𝚡𝚙𝚎𝚛𝚒𝚎𝚗𝚌𝚎?
I was actually really nervous to apply. I've never been a mod or leader in anything. I love being here and I spend so much time here, I decided I wanted to be a bigger part of the community and to help keep things running smoothly. I wasn't very active the first time I applied and when I wasn't accepted it just prompted me to be more active. So I ed a bunch of clubs and posted a ton. I really wanted to be part of the change, to make things better.
My mod experience has actually been pretty rewarding. I got to make some real changes and fix a few things that were harmful to our community. Watching my hard work pay off has filled me with pride for the first time in my life. Learning how to work as a team has also helped me a lot with real life. Knowing I have people to back me up and help me grow has been a blessing.
𝟷𝟶. 𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚖𝚊𝚒𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝, 𝚒𝚗 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚘𝚙𝚒𝚗𝚒𝚘𝚗, 𝚖𝚊𝚔𝚎 𝚊𝚗 𝚎𝚏𝚏𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚒𝚟𝚎 𝚖𝚘𝚍?
𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲. If you don't have the time to dedicate to the community, then being a mod isn't the best choice. You need to be here to see what happens and where you can make a difference.
𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘆. You need to be able to understand other people's point of view to make the right decisions. Sometimes people will pm just to vent about something we can't change, but hearing them out and understanding their side makes them know their importance.
𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸. You definitely need to be able to talk to your team about things. You need to understand you can't do everything alone. Sometimes you're not even the right person to help the . So you find that person who is.
𝟷𝟷. 𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚠𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚏𝚊𝚟𝚘𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚎 𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚜 𝚝𝚘 𝚑𝚘𝚜𝚝?
I haven't really hosted any, but I've helped lead them. I've hosted a few weekly challenges, that no one participates in 🤣 and I've hosted a few challenges for spookfest, which went pretty well. I absolutely love leading a team for Spirit Wars. I love being able to cheer my team on and encourage them.
𝟷𝟸. 𝙾𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚗 𝚠𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚖𝚘𝚍𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐, 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚊𝚗𝚢 𝚘𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚊𝚌𝚝𝚒𝚟𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚎𝚜 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚎𝚗𝚓𝚘𝚢 𝚍𝚘𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚒𝚗 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚏𝚛𝚎𝚎 𝚝𝚒𝚖𝚎?
I'm learning to be a better photographer. I love snapping pictures of things like sunsets, flowers and clouds. I've recently moved so I'm also starting to take pictures of the ponds and rivers. I enjoy reading, but I'm pretty picky with what I read. I have two authors who I've read every book they've written. I also have a series, a very long series lol, that I'm in the process of reading again, for the 5th time XD. I also like to play some games on my phone or ps4.
𝟷𝟹. 𝙰𝚗𝚢𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚎𝚕𝚜𝚎 𝚝𝚘 𝚊𝚍𝚍?
I just want to give a shout out to everyone in this community for making this the best place to be! Of all the Amino communities I've ed, none have ever made me feel at home like you guys do here. This is also the cleanest and most respectful community I've come across. The mod team, before I ed, had been doing a great job and made this a safe place. The mod team now is living up to that reputation. I'm proud to be a part of this community and to be able to serve you all.

:sparkles: Thoughts from the top of the ferris wheel
by Sunny
Fan as I am of his writing, I think Sunny produced quite a few great pieces this inktober! This one in particular is extremely thought provoking and I suggest giving it a read when you can. It's a great read!
:sparkles: Your local spicy author
by Scholar
I think his piece was unique because it was written in a satirical line concerning existing tropes that we swoon over in a regular romance novel. The piece is witty, funny and a read that is positively worth your time! Happy reading!
:sparkles: Architect of the Universe
by Phoebe
This inktober piece was the perfect embodiment of the dream theme. Phoebe manages to capture the overwhelming love and desperation with her incredible use of celestial imagery. I definitely recommend giving this piece a read if you haven’t!
:sparkles: A Child’s Wave
by Suz
In this piece, Suz perfectly embodies the sentiments that define our summer childhoods under the sun, on the sandy beach. Every single line is a step in the direction of enhancing that same vibe. It's a beautiful collage of emotions, summer colours and everything wholesome in-between! It is highly suggested to check it out to see for yourself!
