Stars fell along this dew-kissed meadow, flower-filled where none could harrow

Fragile leaves worn and thin, evergreen, swaying softly in the night wind

A beautiful sight 'midst the throes, its center a tree of willows

For when the moonlight fades at dawn, in the soil deep the weeds burrow

    Deep in the earth of that lovely meadow.

Oh, how sublime and resplendent, as said by every visitor

Blind to its roots that long rotted, empty beds where none had planted

And still, the fragrance lingered more— More than a dying garden's core

A mirage it perfectly wore, no more a dying maiden's lore

    In the fog, a dream never born.

And each tender, gentle coaxing like a promise spoken in truth

Quelled the storms— Quieted the pelting rains that ravaged it so;

Unfamiliar and yet soothing, this new feeling had left me sore

So much that this too, shall be buried like an old fallen meteor

Leaving a crater in my soul; love, like a new fallen meteor
