Fire,

The strong, courageous, powerful hellraiser, capable of demises that would take eons to heal. Yet, it is one of the most beautiful divinities bestowed upon us since the beginnings of time, that has helped us even before mankind became a thing.

Even light cannot fight against the warmth and the power fire entrusted us with. Such majesty, such ardent ion. We are fools to think we can control it, when in reality it is most likely for it to control us.

When we are little, we only know fire as this dangerous and potentially mortal entity that would provoke burns and destruction. Those dancing flames were enough to scare every single one of us. However, fire never scared me.

I was taught a valuable lesson about fire, probably something you don’t get taught very often. I was taught to respect it, not to fear it. I was taught to use it, not to abuse it. And with that, I can now see the fire dance, smiling at it, safely blinded by its crepitating beauty.

When you see fire out in the wild, it’s not something you can easily take in. Be it a volcano or a regular fire, you tremble upon the mighty columns of red and ash. Still, one can argue that Nature enraged is a fine, if not the finest, spectacle to watch and appreciate.

What about star fire? That mythical fire you barely see, yet you know it’s there. The fire that stars get consumed in, eventually exploding and creating an unimaginable festival only the cosmos is able to witness. Who knew death could be so beautiful?

And then there’s the fire that burns without you seeing. That fire that hurts without you feeling pain. That fire that entangles the hearts of those who are willing to live an unhappy happiness. That fire that is also known commonly as love.

As much as we attempt to extinguish fire, it will always be around us. Whether we see it or don’t, whether we feel it or deny it. Fire is as powerful as the light within, though some say it can bring disastrous endings to those who don’t respect it.
