Light,

When we are born, it is the first thing our eyes ever laid sight into. That glimmer of hope, that song made out of newborn cries… We’ve had light with us since the moment we first saw the world, and since then, it feels like we can bend it to our will.

When you’re a child, you see everything so clearly. Your eyes are always lit, fueled by the curiosity and the beauty that is the world. A new field is always available for you to explore, gasp at and smile at. You even learn how to walk just to get there faster.

From dusk till dawn, light rains down on you, revealing you a path to a mystical forest and an infinite ocean. When the time is right, you will want to pursue this shimmering path, you will want to know more about the pillars that this world is built upon.

Even during the night, you look upon the starry sky and you see all the light the cosmos possesses in all its glory. You smile at the stars and ask how they got up to such a high place, wondering if you’ll ever be able to get there as well.

And when you’re not awake, you can still see the light with your eyes closed. Truth be said, you see even more of it. You have enough light to create your own worlds, your own wonders. You are the light that bathes a completely different reality.

And then there’s other reasons for your light to keep shining through. Family, friends, ions… you find these sooner or later, and when it settles in, you feel like one of those stars you glance at during the peaceful night.

But what is light if there’s nothing else to see? What is light, if you cannot explore the world and find other divinities the same light shines upon? What would be light if you couldn’t find that mystical forest, that infinite ocean, that powerful volcano or that windy mountain above the clouds?
