A ten-step guide on finding a muse

1. Think about how about bitter you have become. You are like drinking seawater. You are as if you have been rejected of a mother's love. You are the word bitter in all of its entirety. Invulnerable and inconsiderate of your own feelings. Do you like hurting your own feelings or can you just not help it?

2. Read other poetry and imagine it's written for you. Feel how warm you get from looking at those stanzas. Look at the words. Hear every syllable. You want to scream. Each cell in your body is shouting " Look me in the eyes and see the person you have damaged".

3. You get mean when you want something. That persistence is just another bad word up there with desire. But you won't stop. Till every part of yourself has lionized every fantasy into a reality. You want to crawl inside someone's body and declare that now your home.

4. Now you have decided on a muse. You want them. You needed them. You call them your victim because you think very little of yourself. So you will proceed to call them that as falling for someone just sounds like an accident waiting to happen.

5. So you write.

6. And write

7. Hoping that the words on ink stained paper match up to the description because poetry isn't realistic. It isn't realistic at all. Because the freckles on their back isn't star maps or their hair isn't blacker than midnight.

8. You won't show them your work.

9. Oh god no.

10. Because having a muse is mainly a secret as it isn't really falling in love but more an infatuation.
