As per usual, we must tragically start with the eliminations. It was very difficult to choose, all entries were wonderfully done. We could definitely tell that everyone had put their hearts into their entries. But unfortunately, a tournament wouldn’t be a tournament without eliminations. And thus, here are our eliminations.

BL Team Z :soccer: :soccer: :soccer: :soccer: :soccer:

Debate Night With BLTeamZ

This piece had amazing presentation and a lovely debate, however, it felt that often, the topic strayed away from the main theme. It was a little confusing trying to understand what was fully happening and with the topic moving away from the theme, it got a little muddy. Due to the structure of the debate, it felt limited with the amount of time the could spend speaking on a character- it didn’t feel as in depth as they could’ve been. When compared to the rest of the tournament entries, it unfortunately lacked in quality. Overall, it simply felt like this piece lacked from others as it went on unnecessary tangents.

Sussy Bakas

Cloudy with a chance of sussiness part 1

Cloudy with a chance of sussiness part 2

While a great piece and a lovely choice of story, the judge felt like a lot of the characters’ personalities didn’t fit the original traits. Additionally, the overall piece felt a bit inconsistent and unorganized. With the beginning of the second section having a blogging section but then moving back into an interview once more, it felt confusing. While this wasn’t a complete factor that affected the choices, it was wished that more of the had written something instead of one person talking about a character/show. As for themes, it felt like one of the themes were more forced than the others in trying to make it work. It was all over the place, and whilst that might’ve been to accompany the chaos factor, it just didn’t make the right impact. So overall, while the humour was certainly there, it felt a bit too chaotic, even if that was the theme. Great work, this competition is very difficult and you were all able to showcase such amazing work!

With our final round, we wanted something big and extravagant! And thus, round five’s theme is...

The Great Escape

This theme is quite simple! But first, let us introduce the special rule. Once more, this round’s special rule is that the blogs must be done in a COLLAB form. This means that there are TWO blogs, posted by TWO in a collab format. On the feature feed page, they are posted side by side.

Now that we know it’s a collab form, let’s get into the details. ONE SIDE of the collab will be trying to escape! From what? Well, it could be anything. They could be escaping from a hospital, an insane asylum, a zoo!! As long as they are trying to get away and get free.

The OTHER SIDE of the collab is trying to prevent the escaping side from leaving. Whether it be due to mental constraints, physical constraints, emotional constraints. You must explain how, why, and what is preventing the team from escaping.

Each side may talk about 4-6 characters!

One of the biggest aspects here is CREATIVITY. We want to see what you can bring to the table. Put as much effort as you can into it.

And of course, the most important, it must all relate and connect heavily to anime!!

⚘ Please keep it appropriate and follow guidelines

⚘ You can only have one entry per group! This entry will be split into TWO parts. Each part is posted by a DIFFERENT member of each team.

⚘ Deadlines are NON-negotiable

⚘ Rules will NOT change

⚘ Plagiarism will NOT be tolerated (NOTE: If the entire team is caught plagiarizing, the entire team is disqualified. If it’s one part of the entry that’s plagiarized, the member who wrote that part will be disqualified. The team will have the opportunity to find a new member if they make it to the next round. The entry itself will be judged on everything but the plagiarized part. Please note that the rules have been updated. We are now asking that write down who wrote what part of their entry.)

⚘ to use the hashtag #EscapeGames2021

⚘ It is up to you to choose whether everyone or only a few participate in a round, whatever you deem as best as long as everyone has participated in some way by the end

⚘ Please write down in your blog which person wrote which part!

⚘ Once you are eliminated, you are eliminated for good

⚘ No more than two member swaps (for good reason), the final two rounds must be the same people, the people who earn the title are the ones who participated in the final round

⚘ Artists are more than welcome to , however not a requirement. The art may give you an extra edge, however it will not be the determining factor for any of the rounds

⚘ AMVs will be treated like an artist piece. It can potentially give the blog an ‘edge’ however, we still require all posts to have a blogging portion

⚘ that this is meant to be a fun event, please don’t get too heated

Yeah I feel ya. We totally should have went into the next round lol. All jokes aside, no need to say this was rigged. I mean my team lost, but we still had a great time. Can't point the results to bias or the results being "rigged".
