For my first post I decided to take a dive into history.

Today we're talking about LGBTQ people who

𝐵𝑜𝑟𝑛: 23 June 1912

𝐷𝑖𝑒𝑑: 7 June 1954 (aged 41)

𝐶𝑎𝑢𝑠𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝐷𝑒𝑎𝑡𝒉: Suicide by cyanide poisoning

𝑆𝑒𝑥𝑢𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑦: Homosexual

𝑊𝑜𝑟𝑘         

Alan Turing worked for the

government at Bletchley park.

He played a very important

role in cracking coded messages

that were intercepted. He is

known mainly for Cryptanalysis

of the Enigma.

𝑅𝑒𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠𝒉𝑖𝑝

Alan Turing was homosexual.

He had proposed to to Joan

Clarke but in the end Turing

realized he couldn't go through

with the marriage.

𝐷𝑒𝑎𝑡𝒉

Alan's housekeeper found him

on 8 June 1954 dead. He had

died the previous day

of cyanide poisoning.

Alan won Smith's prize in 1936

Leonardo is considered one

of the greatest painters of

all time. Two of his most

famous paintings are The

Last Supper and The Mona

Lisa.

He is also very technically

skilled. He designed flying

machines, a variety of armoured

vehicles, concentrated solar

power etc.

𝑅𝑒𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠𝒉𝑖𝑝

Overall, Da Vinci was very

private over his personal life.

Presumably his most intimate

relationships were with Salaí

and Melzi, his pupils.

His relationship with his

pupils were described as

loving and ionate. These

relationships were of sexual

and erotic nature.

𝐷𝑒𝑎𝑡𝒉

Da Vinci died on May 2nd

1519. (Age 67) It happened

possibly due to a stroke.

The king held his head in

his arms as he died. ( This

may rather be a legend

than a fact)

Jorgensen was an actress

and night club singer. She

was mainly known for

pioneering gender reassignment.

Jorgensen planned to

marry John Traub after

her vaginoplasty but it

was called off. She announced

her engagement to

Howard J. in 1959.

She died of cancer in 1989 at age 62

𝐴𝑐𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑙𝑖𝑠𝒉𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑠

She was the first person

to become widely known

for having sex reassignment

surgery.

playwright, novelists and

voice for the civil rights

movement.

It’s very refreshing to see mention of James Baldwin on this app. Some figures that pique my interest would have to be Audre Lorde, Leslie Feinberg, Gladys Bentley, Langston Hughes, and Judith Butler.

I actually did a essay on James Baldwin for school! Learning about his life was very interesting, did you know he had moved to Paris because he said Paris was more excepting for people of color and the LGBTQ community? (Edit: he moved to , not the city Paris)
