The Harvest Moon glows brightly tonight,

And everything, dear, will give you a fright,

For tonight is unlike any other night,

Tonight, the decors are a macabre sight,

Upon her broom, the old witch flies by,

Careening across the inky black sky

With cheers and with jeers only heard from sky-high,

Gleefully planning a spell to make one cry,

All the black cats come to congregate

Around the old graveyard just half past eight

So that they could come, in groups, to the estate

That houses the very thing that creates hate,

And while there was no unopened grave,

The ghouls and skeletons come out to rave,

Scaring all of the bats hiding in their cave,

Scaring unsuspecting victims if they're brave,

Tombstones and mausoleums tonight

Gives a different kind of scary sight,

Especially when bathed with the moon's light

Would they all look like those that gives me a fright,

Even the haunted house on the hill

Makes me shiver, unsettled with a chill,

And it seems that life there is on a stand-still,

As if scared by a curse made with one mad skill,

Shadows move and dance all on their own,

And darling, please do not answer that phone,

You don't want to invite the doll that's alone—

I thought I told of her curse that's well-known?

The madness of the night fills the air,

Reader, beware, you are in for a scare

Of everything brought by this ancient moon fair,

Of everything brought in by Hallowe'en prayer!
