Respect the Library

This post is to better explain the known powers of Dalian and Hugh, the Black Reading Princess and her Keykeeper. They, of course, have access to all the books in the Archives and they lend them to people and take them back, when the return date is approaching.

Book of Life

The Mystical Archives of Dantalian, contain an infinite amount of knowledge and books. Although, only the 900,666 phantom books inside the library are being referenced, the library contains the book of every living being that exists and that has ever existed.

Those books, contain the information about each and every different event that will happen on one's life and a person's lifespan is destined from the start of the book. Once everything in the book has happened, the person that the book is about, dies. It seems that, by connecting the last and first page of the book, the person can avoid death, but the life will have the same events repeating over and over.

Of course, destroying the book, or cutting the pages, results in the death of the person as well. This was revealed in an extra side story in the LN.

Phantom Books in the Archives

"Hazār Afsān"

"The Dictator's Book"

A book that allows the to become a dictator that won't be killed in any way. Once it is given to a dictator, its power ively portects him from all misfortune that may befall on him. Once the book is betrayed, in other words, when the stops being a dictator, it loses its effect and the is killed by an assassination attempt.

The Harlequinade

A pop-up Mystical Tome. According to Dalian the book was made in the early 18th Century and it may be the Origin of the pop-up books.

When the book is opened, it summons lions, jesters, knife wielding clowns and a large dragon who breathes fire. Although they have a Physical form, when killed, they will turn into paint.

"Liber de Nymphis"

"Liber de Nymphis, written by the alchemist Paracelsus; one of the Mystical Tomes that should not have existed in this world. It a real Grimoire."

When the book is read, it ignites the target of the , redusing them to ashes. Its powerful enough to even burn the fire breathing dragon summoned by "The Harlequinade" I to ashes.

"The Clay Tablet of Ugarit"

"A clay tome from Ugarit, praising the Thunder God of Canaan. Its one of the most ancient Mystical Tomes."

The of the time can call down the Thunder of God to strike his enemies. The can designate other targets as well.

"Book of Styx"

"The time of the immortal sage, Charon. Not even a 1000 spears can break through the barrier"

It creates a physical barrier in the shape of a shield that protects the from attacks.

"Book of Wisdom"

"There were records of mnemonics in Ancient Greece 2500 years ago; many civilizations had developed rapic calculation methods in order to calculate complex formulae in their head."

A Phantom Book that was written by a nameless Latin Youngster. The book is a mnemonic used to train new priests and priestesses. It grants the reader absolute knowledge and wisdom. According to Dalian (and the kids who read the book) if the readers have the will, taking over the world would be a child's play.

"Boom of Soul Exchange"

"-A forbidden time that should not be in this world written by the mythical doctor Asclepius.

-A book to bring back the dead?

-Yes. However, in accordance with the agreement with Hades another life must be offered up to bring a dead person back to life."

The book is used to reassurect the dead by killing others. By killing the one ressurected, the soul of the person who was killed for the dead's ressurection returns to its body and all wounds are recovered. If a person dies many times, he may acquire Resistance to Death and even when receiving lethal wounds, he won't die.

"Tome of Salamander's Seal"

A book that renders all Fire based Abilities innefective against the or everyone close to him.

"Aggregate of Burning Golden Beads"

The Phantom Book releases magical, conical-shaped golden beads as high-temperature projectiles to attack enemies and envelop them in flames. As it is a magic attack, it can even hit Intangible does like it die on the Mercury Angels that were impossible to put down by normal means.

"The Sage's Lithogram"

The creates invisible walls which blocks even Magical Attacks.

"Divine Encyclopedia of the Yin Emperors"

It allows the to heal wounds for himself and his ally in battle. That includes fatal wounds as well.

"The Dragon Tree's jade Script"

It revives everyone who died by Magic. If "The "Divine Encyclopedia of the Yin Emperors", "The Dragon Tree's Jade Script", "The Sage's Lithogram", the "Aggregate of Burning Golden Beads" and the "Tome of Salamander's Seal" are summoned at the same time, they render all magic of their opponents innefective.

Basically, Dalian's words to Hugh describe what the book does perfectly.

The book has two volumes and each person has one volume. When one of the two breaks the marital vows, in other word, cheat on his/her lover, the book is activated, encases the cheater in vines and then burns his body until nothing remains.

"Elusis' Ritual"

A book used for ressurection. It can completely regenarate a body turned into Ashes.

"Guglielmo Baldini's Violin Sonatas"

A Phantom Score of the Sonata that Baldini that can only be played by it's rightful owner. 'Utopia' (often referred to as 'Fantasia') has the ability to make anyone who listens to it, unable to forget the rapture and become addicted the more they listen and basically following each and every order they are given.

'Twilight' on the other hand, pushes the people who listen to it into the pits if sadness and Despair. The sound of it being played, destroyed a Large Building while leaving them in despair.
