Welcome to my 5th and last wiki entry for the current catalog event. Last time I wrote about a Dragon Ball Movie, and once again I will be doing the same. This time it is Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn. Hope you enjoy reading this wiki.

Plot

The movie started in the other world of dragon ball Z where there was an incident leading to being a threat to universe 7 as it infiltrated not just the mortal realm, but also the afterlife. This all began due to a kid who was assigned to look after the containment energy of all the sins being puffed out by people that are transferred towards HFIL (Home For Infinite Losers), or Hell in our world. This runt who started it all wasn’t paying attention that the evil energy container was already full as he was just rocking it out with his headphones music completely ignoring out what he is supposed to do until the container popped out and created an explosion leading towards a malfunction in the entire afterlife. This caused a portal from the dead towards the living realm where they could travel from HFIL towards the living world which started becoming a bigger problems than it already is since the earth’s mightiest warriors are dead during this time such as Vegeta, and Goku, only for Gohan, and the boys to protect earth against evil. This was really amazing as this separated things towards the movie with Goku and Vegeta being together defeating the one responsible for all of this, while their children are handling earth while not doing it behind their shadows. This all caused a big ruckus all of a sudden even in the Grand Kai’s world since Goku and Pikkon were fighting during this time, and suddenly there’s a candy like orb that pops out of nowhere that puts barriers and making it indestructible other from its one and only weakness which we will find out later. Right now after Goku noticing King Yemma being trapped inside and can’t stop the leaking itself it was up to Goku to find out and defeat the monster of this, while Pikkon the formidable warrior, he was trying to make King Yemma break free from the candy barrier. We sooner find out who they were dealing with since the opponent’s mass is one of the biggest things we have ever seen. We also get to know its name which is Janemba since he seems to keep on repeating the word. Janemba here is very big and chubby with the mindset of a kid who likes to play so many games and have fun, this made him completely unpredictable since no one knew what kind of skills he possessed, this later became a huge problem for Goku as he was struggling most of the time, until he finally ticks off and went super saiyan 3 to quickly end Janemba’s life. This awakened his Second Form which is way different from the initial thing we have seen since this one is around the same body shape as Goku’s but with demon like features, and a Pink and Red color design towards his characters.

I believe Janemba's first form was merely just a joke and really childish at first, appearance wise, but I honestly did not expect such a glow up from Janemba. His new form made him look like a real villain, some kind of ruler of the underworld boss, you know what I mean? It honestly reminded me of the many games I have played whereas you have to defeat an overpowered last boss character such as Janemba. And the smug look on his face is just awesome, I like how confident he is even after fighting a full power Super Saiyan 3 Goku. Additionaly, my boy Super Janemba can literally control his own dimension, has some kind of spatial power, warp his own body, as in dissolve and then reassemble, completely dodging any kind of attack made by Goku and his spatial power to send a ki blast from Goku into a portal and send it right back at him, which is the reason why he is one of my favorite villains throughout the series. Another thing I really liked was Goku's appearance as Super Saiyan 3 because it is not an everyday opportunity where you get to see Goku ascend to Super Saiyan 3, only when he truly is serious and take the fight somewhat seriously.

Back to earth, we have seen zombies roaming around and creating havoc to everything in the earth as we get to see Frieza and the past villains that died gang up on Gohan and Videl as a way of revenge. This was really such a big hype towards everybody only for it to end with a one punch from Gohan which really made sense a lot knowing the power gap from the Namek Saga to him in the Buu Arc. In Goten and Trunks’ department they were handling an army that killed so many people but portrayed in a gag way, the thing about this was the army that they were facing was the Nazi’s and Hitler being the leader of it all. Funny trivia before I continue, this caused quite a stir especially in some countries where they banned this scene from the film, and some of them banned the movie itself for this. Now continuing back to the story, Goten and Trunks were just goofing around against hitler and really played along by dodging all of their missiles and bullets easily while talking to one another, plus they surprised everybody by turning super saiyans and flying all around to just continue their shenanigans. Back to the afterlife, Goku is getting pummeled to the ground by Janemba again and again while Goku never manage to deal an actual damage against him. The Moment Janemba was actually about to kill him, someone suddenly attacked Janemba and we get to find out it was Vegeta, and he wanted all the smoke against the opponent. Like the typical Vegeta, he showed up in a bad ass entrance later on to try and save the day only for him to just get destroyed easily. The studio surely hates Vegeta at this point with how many times he has dealt through this in most of the movies, however at least he actually damages Janemba way more than Goku even though he lasted way shorter. The only suggestion these two got in their mind was the fusion dance in order to stop Janemba, but Vegeta never agreed to it since he never wanted to Fuse with Goku in the first place, and the process for it is too humiliating.

Sooner the two came into the agreement to fuse and they did, however this never worked quite well in their favor due to Vegeta accidentally mes and turning their initial fusion character to a fat person that just got bullied by Janemba only for it to be lucky with fart attacks or being quite slow for its opponent. Now about the King Yemma Barrier, Pikkon still never figured out how to actually put a scratch to it and started to get pissed off, so he insulted it out of anger and sooner find out that its weakness are insults. Pikkon quickly went down to Janemba to save Goku and Vegeta again to fuse one last time, and while this was going on, Pikkon yells at Janemba and it worked leading to him giving him a good amount of damage only for it to not last long with how strong he is, and Pikkon just get head punched. Thanks for all of that time the fusion of Goku and Vegeta became a perfect success which made the last resort technique to be perfect. Gogeta was the name of this character, and he quickly dealt with Janemba easily for him to actually eliminate him within an instant, and fade through particles. With Goten and Trunks somehow finding out that both of their dads fused, they did the same thing catching everybody off guard even more and destroyed all enemies with the Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack. After the death of Janemba and all the things going back to normal, Vegeta finally lost his body again and his soul continues to go back to HFIL like how it always has been said goodbye to Goku.

Personal Review

I love this movie so much as it introduced so many iconic things not just in the series but to culture in general where we have seen western cartoons used the thought of fusion heavily getting inspired from this movie like Steven Universe, and more. Gogeta was honestly a fan favorite even though he only appeared for about a minute at best in this entire movie. He was so loved by everyone in the dragon ball community, not only because of how powerful and cool looking he is, but I think also because of the comedy in that movie, such as when Goku and Vegeta had to retry twice because they failed to fuse correctly, so they first turned into a skinny character, and then a fat character, which was pretty hilarious. Because of the amount of from the viewers, they made him into a canon character while not getting retconned unlike the character movie like him which was Broly. This movie was perfect in every single way and must’ve been a blockbuster in the 90’s with how amazing this show was, just looking from in every single way from the choreography, to animation, to music, to dialogues and definitely the main fight between Janemba and Gogeta. I just wish the movie was a bit longer, because 55 minutes is a bit too short compared to the other movies I have watched, and since it was short means that it also was a bit rushed. However, even if it is short I really liked it all nonetheless. I also would like to mention the best part of this movie, Gohan and Videl being caught by the kids kissing and made a ruckus about it at the end.
