A Guide to Team Composition

What is Team Composition?

Team composition in Dauntless is how the four hunters in a group organize each other; to strengthen their chances of winning or to lower it. In this Blog ill be discussing some good team compositions.

BUT...

Just because its powerful does not mean its effective. Even if you have four pistols hat do 1k damage its still going to be less effective per say a comp specifically designed for a monster which can target their weak points and ect.

Monster Types

A good composition needs to make sure their composition is right for the monster they’re fighting. By looking at the monsters we have I can divide them into three different categories.

-Tailed Monsters

Beasts who posses a Tail which acts as their main attacker

-Tank Monsters

Beasts who posses slow attributes such as a turtle like shell or can nullify your damage by using their specific element

-Flying Monsters

Beasts who can use flying as a way to attack and defend

Now with that in mind we can think of good ways to counter these types of monsters. So lets get started with the Tailed beasts

Make SURE to equip the weapon element they suggest...

Tail Monsters

As tail monsters are usually very fast to a moderate amount and can do bursts amount of damage I suggest this Team composition.

-Team Comp-

(Synth )

(Pike )

(Gun )

(Hammer)

Those three allow the best way to easily defeat tailed monsters if the hunters are well experienced with their choice of weapon. Why a Hammer and a Gun? people might say “ I understand the Synth and Pike for cutting the tail, but why those two?” Thats because the hammer is able to stun monsters when hit on the head directly. This allows the tail cutters to not worry about getting hit and allow them to do their jobs easier and quicker. The gun is their for all around constant damage. With the hammer and sharp s backing in and out we need reliable damage that doesn’t risk the live of the ; what better weapon then the gun!

Tank monsters

With their defense and health very high and the ability to do considerate amounts of damage, the tank monster is one of the most longest fights a hunter can face in dauntless. The comp I suggest it...

-Team Comp-

(Guns)

Why all guns? well thats because it can deal a lot of damage and because tanks are usually very slow moving targets and are very big it’ll be very hard to miss. The constant damage without getting harmed is always a plus and we need a lot of damage to get through that health bar!

Flying Monsters

Because flying monsters are very fast and can deal high amounts of damage the best composition is...

Not only will you need long ranged weapons but you’ll need weapons that deal wound damage or fire damage as hitting these monsters while in rage mode is pretty hard.
