We are built upon hubris,

There's no other explanation

as to why we always fall,

no— it's almost as if we were

all made to fall, tumble, and plunge,

Only gods could ever stand tall,

and that's the rule of this world,

while we… we're all meant to grovel

and only lift our face when scared,

Ah, and there's beauty found in fear,

the common quality found

in every living being which

unites or breaks us all apart,

Tragedy, too, is a siren

that calls each helpless victims

into the dark clutches of fear

and their clawed hands, murky with blight,

We're never meant to have the crown

for it is too bright to touch,

shining dangerously, too,

and so blinding as it could be,

The universe is against us,

and fate is its vile puppet,

yet we still face them with a smile

as we walk into Gehena,

Ah, we are quite the disasters,

prophets of our own designs

of which consists of misfortune

that we all fear from aeons past,

We are built upon hubris,

Oh, we're all built upon our pride that

we own not to begin with,

it must've came from somewhere else,

one who is epitome of pride,

Nonetheless, it's why we fall,

for only towers and gods

have the right to be standing high,

looming over us with a gaze,

And what is in that gaze that we

fear as much the darkness?

Perhaps, it is the gaze from one

who knew of our faults, our hubris?

That we knew not to touch this gold,

and yet we immerse in it?

Ah, such a thing always happens,

and there is no escape from it,

We turn ourselves into towers

only for us to crumble down,

and we still stack bricks and mortar

to bring us back up high again,

But is all this truly hubris?

Are we all made to be proud?

Or is this a concept we make

to understand higher beings?

Or, is this to explain the faults

so we could feign innocence?

Ah, but 'tis mankind's nature to

pretend as their own prisoner,

We all think ourselves as martyrs

to remain pure and innocent

from all the faults that we have made.
