Is it really that hard

to fall in love?

Then why is it so easy

to fall out of love?

                     I am a tall bespectacled Gaming

                     Otaku while my BFF is this tiny

                     Fujoshi… why mention this? 'Cuz

                     apparently, there is an anime

                     (and manga) about these two

                     characters...

                     I was like, “What are the odds?”

I would put my love in poetry

Or write a tale that never sleeps,

But my heart is crying out to me

And on the mask I always wear,

It is asking to receive some justice

From my tale that's woven with lies,

Of shadows that had taken over

Where my heart truly resides,

There cannot be fae blood within me

Since my life is wrapped with falsehood,

But even the most tainted of blood

Cannot compare to its lies,

There is quiet elegy playing

Over the loss of sacred truth,

Like how the ink coursing through my veins

Is fading into nothing,

I need to put them into something,

Somewhere they can be permanent,

A place where they can truly live on

As this tragedy follows,

I tried my best to write it all down,

Make it appear in mortal vein,

But then the words start disappearing,

Scattering into the air,

It's like they're turning to memories,

All destined to be forgotten,

And now I am left without the words

That would serve as my prison,

There seem to be no more escaping

From the truth I have kept hidden,

And the mask I wore were torn away,

Now as dejected remnants,

But nobody should know of this truth

That I kept under lock and key,

Nobody should ever know of it

Except the voice in my head,

Or maybe I should simply retreat

Back into my isolation?

Let whispers carry on 'til it dies

Quite like my hope that's fading?

Ah, I do believe I have no choice

But to hide again from this world,

A world that is quite known for its truth:

Love is hard for an Otaku!
