The little mermaid watched the

Setting sun with her tear-stained

Face, forlorn and without hope,

What on earth caused her distress?

Was it the prince? It must be;

For she had longed for the prince,

Gave up her life in the sea

All so she could pursue him,

That was a mistake; why would

She leave her loved ones all for

A stranger? For "love"? This young

Mermaid is foolish- quite so!

And she paid the price with her

Voice to the caecilian sea

Witch, who then gave a deadline

For the prince to fall for her,

But, of course, who on earth would

Love a stranger, someone who

They had never met before?

Who on earth, in this fine realm?

And so, the little mermaid,

Without love and without voice,

Sat upon a rock by the

Sea, heartbroken with regret,

Soon enough, her time was up,

The price must be paid in full;

With one last look at the sun,

She slowly turned to sea foam.
