Well, no one decides that. Normality is only a delusional thing created by people over ages, in my opinion. Normality is a concept that can be used when we address certain traits that should ideally be instilled in human being. According to me, these include things like manners, morality, respect and issues related to these ideals. But we judge whole people on scales of normality and that is where the problem begins.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Just because an overwhelmingly larger population is exhibiting a certain kind of behaviour does not necessarily make the ones not confirming to it abnormal.

A lot of us would behave slightly differently while in public vis a vis being alone at home and not being seen by anyone. So often, what is displayed as normal behaviour is only a pretence to be more accepted by majority of the others.

Isn't it then better to let people be? Rather than promoting this duality. If someone's behaviour is respectful, not hurting anyone, is still legal and moral, why should anyone have a problem with it?

If we all choose to think the same way,

how will we ever evolve?

If we all begin to accept things as is,

how will we ever change for the better?

☞ If all of us would have thought walking was "normal", no one would invent the wheel.

☞ If all of us accepted only driving around as "normal", no one would think about an airplane.

☞ If everyone thought living in the dark was "normal", no one would think about making a lightbulb.

☞ If the "normal" thing of being able to talk to only people physically close to you was accepted, no one would imagine a telephone.

Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein didn’t speak until age four and didn’t read until age seven, which is not "normal". His teachers labeled him “slow” and “mentally handicapped.” But Einstein just had a different way of thinking.

Different, not Abnormal.

If you think today I am not normal, history might just you as abnormal.

Thus I am.....

I think about this all the time, who gets to decide what normal is? No one, in my opinion everyone has a slightly different meaning to normal, and that's okay, it dosent make it okay to force your opinion of normal into other's. Thank you for the post

My grandparents sometimes use the term "queer" to describe something that is acting strange. Like if something isn't working the way it's supposed to, they might say it's acting queer. Whenever that is said I internally cringe because I identify as queer. I know they don't mean it as an insult but still. :persevere:

If I am not wrong, there is a bit of history about how our community took that word, which was negative and against us and turned it around to make it symbolic of our pride.

I can see where ur coming from though and that's the intention of this post that, everything are so subjective.
