What would I end up as

in this near future of mine?

Would I be where I could call home

or trapped within a bog of regret?

I think it depends on

my current actions today,

my future isn't all written

by the stars above the high heavens,

My entire future

should not be dictated by

some gaseous balls, but with my hand

of which holds my triumphs and downfalls,

I could see my success,

in a position I like,

surrounded with positive things

and graced with a chance for betterment,

But it comes with a price,

one that only I could pay,

and that it was to strive for the best,

using my abilities, of course,

It won't come just like that,

I know I need to work hard

and bite not the hand that feeds me

even if I am my own feeder,

I need to be stronger,

stand a little taller, and

not burn the bridge as I get there;

failure doesn't mean that it's over,

Sure, one might question me,

“Why not aim the hall of fame?”

I know myself and my limits,

I'll get there soon, but it's not yet time,

“I'd do it for myself,”

do it for my family,

do it for my pride and country,

do all these for the sake of my name,”

“I'll do it for the fame,”

or at least, so I would say,

but pride goes before destruction,

I know my limits, know where I stand,

I'll be the champion

like those in the books of old,

but, for all that to become true,

I should not place myself so high up,

I'm just someone normal,

I've no superhuman gifts,

but I know I can reach the stars

and change the outcome of who I'll be,

How do I see myself

in my impending future?

I see myself in a place where

I know I'd be of everyone's use,

In a place I know will help me grow.
