I spent weeks day dreaming of my novel idea. I had the plot, the major characters and the conflict all figured out. It was going to the perfect. I picked up my pen and started writing and a few pages later, I met a very irksome problem. The story was not flowing. Maybe because I had all my ideas sorted out, I began to pump all the information into a few pages and I was focusing on the story telling at all.
I decided to start afresh from a different angle, pushing back the urge to explain certain things before necessary.
This was actually pretty difficult for me because for as long as I can , I've always jumped into a book without sorting things out first. Of course this method also has a huge problem. You're rarely ever in control of the novel and you probably won't know when it'll end.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, never rush your book. The beauty of a well written literature is usually the style of writing and how you portray your ideas rather than the idea itself (I'm not a professional so I wouldn't know). It doesn't matter how long it takes for you to finish your work as long as you finish it eventually and you're proud of it.

Very true. Trying to write a book in such a rushed way is no good.
