The hidden treasures chapter 7 the 14 hidden gems

Another adventure starts after another and we were all walking down a steep hill where the wealthy town was. It was difficult to not slip down on the hill since it was so steep. We held hands helping each other walk down the hill without slipping and we all finally made it down after what felt like forever. We kept on walking until one of us stepped on something that sounded really crunchy. We thought it was leafs until one of us lifted up our feet to see and saw a snail with a crushed shell.

"Gross!" Zoey said. "I stepped on a snail."

"Let me get it oot yer shoe." Matilda said grabbing the snail.

"Ok."

After we get to the cave where Chiro's brother still lurked in, We didn't see any gemstones on him. This made Chiro confused and ask her brother.

"宝石はどこにありますか?"(Where are the gemstones?)

"行って."(Gone)

"あなたは彼らと一緒に何をしましたか?!?!"(WHAT DID YOU DO WITH THEM?!?!)

"私はそれらすべてを隠しました."(I hid them all.)

"なぜでしょうか?!"(WHY?!)

"私はもう貪欲になりたくなかったので、他の誰も見つけられないところに隠しました."(I didn't wanna be greedy anymore so I hid them where no one else could find them.)

"バカ。。。"(idiot...) Chiro whispered underneath her breath.

"Hm?"

"バカ！！！...バカバカババあなたは私は!!!あなたから生きているたわごとを爪をファックするつもりです."(IDIOT!!!... IDIOT IDIOT IDIOT YOU FUCKING IDIOT I'LL CLAW THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF YOU!!!)

"落ち着いて下さい."(Calm down.) Louis said.

"どこに隠したの?どこに隠したの?!?!?!"(Where did you hide them? WHERE DID YOU HIDE THEM?!?!?!)

Not saying a word, Rin walks backwards into the shadows and then disappears.

"ねえ、あなたは私から実行しないでください!!!"(HEY YOU DON'T RUN FROM ME!!!)

"Cmon Chiro let's go find the gemstones that your galoot brother hid."

Matilda grabs Chiro's hand and walks off with everyone else who were terrified of Chiro's yelling. It sounded like Satan talking to you it gave me chills. We walked into the vine parts of the woods so we swung on the vines as transportation which was really fun. One of us saw a temple while we swung past vines.

"Hey look a temple!" Chloe said looking at the temple.

"It looks abandoned." I said. "In Japan temples are called 寺. (tera) It's really hard to find abandoned temples but we just found ourselves one."

"Chloe... Found... it first."

"That's cool I wanna go inside." Troy said.

"Good job Chloe." Jacqueline and Zoey said.

"Thank you".

"止める!"(Stop!) Chiro said blocking the entrance. "私たちは適切な方法で寺院に入る必要があります."(We have to enter the temple the proper way.)

"Uuh what did she say?" Troy asked.

"She said we need to enter the temple the proper way." I translated.

"Oh my bad." Troy said dramatically and was about to walk in in what he called fancy walking but I grabbed his shirt and pulled him back.

"HEY what the heck I was walking in the proper way like you said."

"Yeah that's not how you walk in a Japanese temple." I said looking at Chiro who blushed in embarrassment. "Follow Chiro's lead and do what she does I'll translate the Japanese for you."

"お辞儀をして入り口の前で敬意を払ってください."

"Pay your respects in front of the entrance by bowing like this."

"What a weird way to bow it's like a penguin looking at their feet."

"Just bow Troy your being disrespectful."

"Ok Ok fine."

"今、浄化の儀式のパフォーマンスのために。右手でヒザクを取り、水の寛大な量を取得します."

"Now for the performance of the purification ritual. Take the hisaku which is the big spoon here with your right hand and get a generous amount of water. Pour a little on each hand."

"Ok do we drink it?"

"No."

"Awww but I'm thirsty."

"Chiro talks too fast." Troy said.

"She said bow twice than ring the bell then clap twice and put your hands together like this with your fingers straight like your praying. After you finish your prayer bow once more."

"Finally." Troy said.

They all walked into the temple to see 4 of the precious gemstones. They saw Jasper, Topaz, Emerald and Jacinth.

"少なくともそれはグループにあり、独立していません."(At least it's in groups and not independently.) Chiro mumbled to herself.

Troy quickly grabbed the four gemstones and ran out of the temple but I grabbed his shirt and told him we couldn't leave yet.

"We have to tell the gods thank you first."

"WHAT?!?! NO!!! Let's just leave already I don't wanna do all the bowing and clapping again."

"Well you're gonna have to now."

"Noooo I don't wanna." Troy complained.

"Fine act that way the gods would be disappointed in you right now."

"Troy Scott stop the fightin!"

I started bowing to pay one more of my respects and so did everyone else except for Troy who turned away from me with the gemstones Impatient. After everyone paid their respects one more time, We all left with the gemstones and wondered where the next batch could be. We all played the guessing game at that point because we had no where else to go and we didn't have a map to anywhere no more, but just in case Matilda put the old maps in with where our food and water was.

"What day is it?" I said not focusing on the calender.

"I don't know Scott yer the only with a watch." Matilda said.

I checked my watch to see that it was way past 10PM looking at the sky that was pitch black. It was the 4th of July. I wonder how my parents are doing back in Oregon they must be having fun with the fireworks.

"It's the 4th of July at 12AM at night." I said out loud for everyone to hear.

"Oh... god... We... need to... find... space... for our... tent."

"Oh were good for noo. Is everyone tired?"

"Nope." I said.

"Yes tired of Scott TELLING ME WHAT TO DO." Troy said looking at me.

"Troy can you just drop it already?" I said in annoyance.

"No."

"I'm... a... little tired." Louis said.

The twins were already asleep on Matilda and Louis's back while Jacqueline remained awake.

"What aboot you Jacqueline?"

"M-Me? Well... Yes." She nodded looking at the ground.

"We'll try to find enough space here in the woods my wee darlin. Just give us some time and then we can all sleep."

"私はホタルを見たい."(I wanna see fireflies) Chiro said.

"ホタル。しかし、私が見つけることができるものはありません."(Fireflies? But there isn't any that I could spot.) Louis said.

"用事."(Nevermind.)

"何かありますか.間違ったチロ?"(Is their something... Wrong Chiro?)

"私は長い間ホタルを見ていないだけです。もう一度会えたい。私が最後に会ったのは7歳のときでした."(It's just that I haven't seen fireflies in a long time. I wanna be able to see one again. The last time I saw one was when I was 7.)

"ホタルはかわいいです."(Louis said.)

"彼らは."(They are.)

After that was some brief silence of us walking. We kept walking until we found some flat empty space for our tents. We set them up again and went in to get some sleep keeping the gemstones safe. The next day came which was 11 in the morning. I was the first to wake up and walked put of the tent. I wondered off to explore a bit to be able to be familiar with the spot we picked for our tents to sleep. I saw snakes which I was really cautious of not wanting to make it mad so I ran from it until I crashed into another cave. I went back to the tents and waited for everyone to wake up.

Chiro woke up next and I saw her leave the tent as well. She looked like she was looking for me but when I came back, She looked at me.

"久しぶり。私はあなたを見つけることができませんでした."(Where were you? I couldn't find you.)

"私は少し歩いていた後、私は別の洞窟を見ました."(I was walking for a bit then I saw a different cave.) I told her.

"あなたは全く入りましたか?"(Did you go in at all?)

I shaked my head.

"私はあなたに何かを伝えたい."(I wanna tell you something.)

"それはなんですか?"(What is it?)

"あなたは私を全く認識していますか?私はその宝箱に閉じ込められる前に?"(Do you recognize me at all? Before I was trapped in that treasure chest.)

"いいえ。。。なぜでしょうか?(No... Why?)

I didn't know about Troy yet I only knew that he was in your mother's womb. I use to travel a lot and Oregon was one of them. I was there for vacation but your mother needed a babysitter so I got a call from a random number which was your mother's which I answered. I agreed to babysit you since I used to be a babysitter back then. You were fun to play with but very picky with food. Your mother's bilingual you know?)

"私の母はノルウェー語と日本語の両方を知っていますか?"(My mom knows both Norwegian and Japanese?)

Chiro nodded with a smile.

"確かにはい."(Indeed yes.)

だがしかし。。。どうやってここに来たの?"(But... How did you end up here?)

"私の両親は年を取っていたので、私と私の兄は彼らの両方の世話をするために彼らと一緒に滞在することに同意しましたが、それはたくさんのお金であり、私たちは最終的に壊れました。私の仕事は私に多くのお金を払わなかったし、兄のもそうだったので、私たちは生き残りのためにここに逃げました。私は今、両親が自分で生き残れるとは思わないのが心配です."(My parents were getting old so me and my brother agreed to stay with them to take care of them both but it was a lot of money and we eventually went broke. My job didn't pay me a lot of money nor did my brother's so we fled over here for survival. I'm worried about my parents right now I don't think they can survive on their own.)

"あなたはクビになったのですか、それとも辞めましたか?"(Did you get fired or did you quit?) I asked.

"私は早く退職しました."(I retired early.)

"あなたのお兄さんも引退しましたか?"(Did your brother retire as well?)

"ああ、彼は解雇されなかった。いつも仕事に遅刻したことで解雇される."(Oh no he was fired. Fired for being late to work all the time.)

"おや."(Oh.)

"ところで、それは私の母が日本語を知っている方法はクールです。彼女はそれを言わなかった."(By the way, That's cool how my mom knows Japanese. She didn't tell that.)

"とにかく、誰もが目を覚ますと、あなたが見つけた洞窟がどこにあるかを私たちに見せることができます."(Anyways, When everyone wakes up, You can show us where the cave you found is.)

"しかし、私は中に何があるのだろうか。たぶん、私たちはそこに宝石のいくつかを見つけることができます."( But I wonder what's inside. Maybe, We could find some more of the gemstones in there.)

I sat on a rock and checked my watch again it was July 5th. It was getting cold really cold out so I went back inside the tent where everyone else is sleeping. I heard drops of rain coming down and it sounded relaxing. Finally, My uncle woke up. I wanted to say something but for some reason I didn't so I remained quiet until he started talking to me.

"Morning." He said.

"Good morning Louis." I said back

It began to rain harder forming hail. I looked outside in my tent watching the hail fall out of the sky crashing onto the ground. Gushes of wind coming occasionally lifting up the leafs moving them sideways as our tent bends a little from how strong the wind was. Mist came out of the air and sprinkled everywhere and a bit of our tent inside. The feeling of mist on my skin made me shiver a bit. Weirdly enough, Mist tickles my skin since it feels weird on me but hey that's just me.

"Getting... The sm... all cold... Shivers... Again?"

I noded and grabbed my sleeping bag going inside trying to cover myself as much as I can holding the sleeping bag tightly.

"Any...thing in... your m... mind?"

"No other than trying to get warm again."

"Here... take my... coat... for... now."

"Thanks." I said immediately grabbing it and putting it on.

Everyone eventually woke up and Chiro told them all that I found another cave. They all went into the tent I was and told me to show them where it was. I went out along with Troy being forced to wake up by my aunt. Being woken up is one thing Troy hates the most out of all irritating things. My aunt carried an umbrella where my cousins went under. ing where it was, It did not take much time at all and we went in. It was pitch black in there and Louis turns on his flash light flashing everywhere in the cave so we wouldn't step on anything that could be living.

There were a lot of bats in that cave sleeping. I had a bad feeling about it but we went in since they think the other 4 gemstones are here. Well not me that would be too easy to find especially in caves like these. They're usually deeper in underground but whatever guess we can give it a try but there will be none of them here. As we wandered deeper into the cave farther from the light getting darker, It started to get smaller to the point where we all had to crawl in order to fit. It was crowded since there was 8 of us in here but we all managed to fit by lining up behind each other. Louis was in front since he had a flashlight.

"I don't get it why is there almost no space? I feel like Alice chasing the white rabbit into the rabbit hole only were not falling." I said.

"I-I bet but at least we're not in wonderland." Jacqueline said.

Troy was scared and wanted to crawl quickly back but he was behind me and in front of Jacqueline and I was behind Matilda in front of Troy. Sweating out of control, his entire body shaking and his stomach churning. He felt nauseous. Like he was riding a roller coaster and had to throw up. He kept pushing me to go faster each time I wasn't which was tiring. I told Matilda who told Louis to crawl faster since Troy was about to out. After the long line of almost no space and Troy so close of ing out we made it. He didn't out which is good. After some time searching the entire cave carefully for 4 other gemstones, We didn't find any.

"See I told you guys they wouldn't be in here."

"Th-they may not be here but we can dig here for them." Jacqueline said.

"We didn't bring shovels darlin have to have shovels." Matilda said.

"Guys... Do you... ... Where... We... Came... from? Scott?... Matilda?... Jackie... Anyone?"

We all shook our heads and since we're far deep into the cave there was almost no escape.
