The message

Year date: 2345

Probably a Tuesday

“Don’t be angry with me my love I had already planned on giving a human my Nano bots. I had even searched you out. You were the perfect specimen of the human species. I had always dreamed and believe that if I could somehow combine the nano technology that was naturally created within our bodies. Combining them with another species that maybe, just maybe, I might find a combination that worked perfectly.

Were the nano bots, not only enhanced their species, but blended, became one with their very DNA. I did testings, countless testings on so many different species. Year after years, decade after decade. I eventually came across the newly discovered human species. That’s when I had that, what you humans call, that eureka moment.

I had finally found the carrier specie’s I needed to implant my nano technology into that promised an eighty five percent capacity for successes. I decided that very instant, to send out the word to a few unsavory types I’ve befriended over the last two centuries. That I was looking for a human that was a top notch soldier, with the best military mind. The best naturally gifted human species, for my experimentation. They came back with only one, of all humans and that was you my love and yes I sought you out.

Yes, I was always planning to implant my nanotechnology into your body, but never in my wildest dreams of over three hundred years of life. Would I ever imagined that I would find my soulmate my love, after I met you, got to know you. Falling in love with you and then you did something no one had ever done in all of those three hundred years. You fell in love with me. I had second thoughts on whether or not I wanted to give you this gift.

I never told you about the nano technology. Thats naturally born within us, think of them as a parasite if you will. They are a byproduct of our evolutionary process. They are a living organism that can’t survive without a host. A parasite with benefits, many benefits, that you my love will come to know overtime. If you’re reading this message then I have already expired, just know that the last ten years we spent together meant more to me than all two hundred and ninety I had lived alone.

I wouldn’t change a thing my love, not if it meant never meeting you and living alone for another three hundred years. Not for anything in the known and unknown parts of the universe. I decided against giving you my nanotechnology when I said yes to becoming your mate. I knew it would mean that you would die several centuries before me. But the chance that the nano’s would alter your feelings for me, was something I wasn’t willing to make.

But there is a second nature ability that my species have, we can sense when its out time. I knew my time was coming, and I knew that there was nothing you could do to prevent my death. Thats when I realized I needed to on my nanobots, not for preservation of them. But to protect you after if died, I know who you were and what you used to do. And I knew that you would be seeking revenge, so in our last beautiful act of lovemaking.

I told my nanobots to leave my body, to enter yours, because you would be their new host. I gave them only one command, that superseded all other commands. Protect my love against all that would dare to harm, that if they failed, then they have failed me.

Don’t hate me my love. As you age far slower than humanity, as you see the rise and fall of empires and the destruction and birth of galaxies, I hope you bear no ill will to me my love. For what I gave you, was not only a gift from my heart, but a gift from my soul. I can only guess as to how long you will live. In my experiments, your species was the best suited for blending and in my attempts at figuring out the life expectancy for each species I tested.

Nearly all species had between two to six hundred years of life expectancy. A few far shorter, a very few the nanobots simply killed the host, but humans… they had no end date. You my love may very well be immortal.”

The automated message clicked off, after saying one hundred credits will be charged to your . Blain Swain Zachariah attempted to blink away the growing tears and the rage building inside. It was a futile effort. In the course of a single day he had lost the love of his life, found out that he would have been a father of three children. And that his lover who was executed, accused of being a spy, an displayed over the galactic sub-telecommunication network. For the whole galaxy to witness. Had not only known she was going to die, but had given him the one thing that he knew was forbidden in her species to do.

Blain could feel them, the nanobots, moving underneath his skin, changing him. He welcomed the pain because he knew after the pain subsided. He would reconnect to ghosted friendship’s he walked away from after his retirement. He thought he was ready for the pain, he was wrong, it lasted an excruciating five days. Then as quickly as it started, it stopped, now it just felt strange. He felt strange. He no longer felt sad, mad or vengeful.

Blain Swan Zachariah took in the events of the last week, as he looked into the bedroom mirror at his sweat and tear soaked filthy no longer white T shirt. He felt only one thing… extermination. As the thought grew with rage, the billions of nanotechnology bots became agitated. Not in a harmful, angry hostile way, but a sense of purpose, focus. They too wanted this human feeling. Extermination!
