On the planet of Demos, war ravaged the surface. A 100 year nuclear war killed billions of men, women, and children. It’s been centuries since the end. The surface is only now starting to recover.
The smell of dust, sweat, and coal was in the air as the Dajin worked tirelessly. The only thing that was guaranteed to them were their rations and death. The Fajin were sitting in mansions lined with gold, diamonds, emeralds, and lots of silver. They were stealing the profits and resources through taxes and taxation, exploiting the slave class and the middle class, the Dajin and Kajin, to death.
One man decided to stand up for the common people. He was a teacher, barely scraping by to survive. He arrived home one night to his pregnant wife and daughter. The smell of soot, urine, vomit, and fecal matter filled his nose as he sighed and kissed his wife. His daughter was young. He didn’t want her to get pregnant but it’s another income source as recorded sexual activity gives them some credits.
He went straight to another room. In this room is an old charger ion rifle that was ed down from generation to generation. The old worn out handle had an inscription.
“MDRC,” was very faded on the handle of the rifle.
MDRC was a shortened version of Miranda and Daniel’s Rifle Co, a company who went under after the war. During the war, an ancestor was drafted and used a charged ion rifle to fight for their county.
It brought back memories in his mind from when his father was teaching him how to shoot and how to fight.
He took a deep breath and held it with a firm grip, “Forgive me father for I will sin,” he says under his breath.
He stripped himself, taking off his worn shirt and put on a black undershirt. He put on black pants, a black over shirt, a black and red hannya mask, a jacket with a hood, and a holster on his hip. With his hood up, he looked like a demon wearing a jacket. There was a barracks a couple miles from his house. He was going to steal from the barracks.
He went to his wife, “I will be back,” he smiled and left.
