Gargoyle

The statue that stood atop

the building always gave you

weird vibes. Was it the shape?

The form? You had no idea,

but what you did know was

that it always felt like it's

eyes were following you as

you walked past it.

        ┊ At the center of the garden a

        ┊ statue stands. It's old crumbling

        ┊ features hard to make out. But

        ┊ you what it used to be.

        ┊ The Gargoyle. It always terrified

        ┊ you as a child. You never wanted

         ┊ to go outside. For good reason.

         ┊ The gargoyle was alive. Mother

         ┊ never believed you. You tried to

         ┊ tell her. She thought it was a

         ┊ silly game. But you knew it was

        ┊ real. It was docile during the day.

        ┊ And at night, it was abominable.

         ┊ If you went outside, perhaps to

        ┊ take out the trash, it would chase

        ┊ you. You asked your mom over and

        ┊ over again to get rid of it. She

        ┊ would always reply with something

        ┊ about it being not worth the

         ┊ trouble. You pleaded with her, and

        ┊ she still wouldn't listen. She

        ┊ brushed it off like you were crazy.

        ┊ She even took you to a

        ┊ psychiatrist. She says she doesn't

        ┊ believe you, but she knows you're

         ┊ right. She's seen it. When she was

        ┊ younger. But she's an adult now.

        ┊ She was put through the same

         ┊ psychologist crap you are being

        ┊ put through. The only difference,

        ┊ she doesn't . You've seen

        ┊ the missing posters of kids from

        ┊ your neighborhood. You know it's

        ┊ the gargoyle's fault. How many

         ┊ has it been now? Ten? Twenty?

         ┊ It even got your best friend.

         ┊ It's. A. Monster. And you need to

        ┊ get away. Before you're snatched

        ┊ too.
