"Honey?" I cry out before my world falls black.

CRASH.

The horrible existence of reaction pulls my body down and I wrap my arms over my head, shaking. I get back to my feet slowly, muscles shuttering as my fears manifest themselves.

I reach over towards where I thought the wall would be, but when I take a step my waist bumps into a table that wasn't there a minute ago. My arms fly around in the pitch black, trying to capture any bearings to my surroundings.

Shuffling forward, I make my attempt at getting anywhere. I must be advancing because I begin to hear humming. My hands feel the smooth wood of the door, and I locate the handle.

"You're finally home!" chirps my wife from the kitchen, the lights all seeming to turn back on at once. It smells like turkey, and she's stirring the gravy. But, she wears a cobweb witches dress and pointy hat.

"What's going on?" I ask.

"Happy Halloween! I planned this just for you!"

"But... It's Thanksgiving tomorrow."

My wife looks over at the calendar on the fridge and bursts out laughing. "Oh, silly me! I forgot to flip from October to November."

And so, we had our spooky thanksgiving meal.
