Eralynn begins to panic. What was she thinking? She looked down at Sophia who went completely still. Her sobbing stopped and Eralynn wasn't sure if it was because she calmed down or if it was because she was disgusted. Sophia turned and looked up at Eralynn with a large amount of blush across her nose and one her cheeks.
"I- I'm so so-" Eralynn began to apologize but was cut off.
Sophia got on her tiptoes and placed a small peck on Eralynns check. She smiled at Eralynn. Then she buried her face back between Eralynns neck and shoulder.
Eralynn just stood, shocked and blushing. Sophia had stopped crying but was still leaning into the embrace. Eralynn moved her head down and rested it on top of Sophia's head.
They stayed like that until there was a knock on the door.
"Guards!" A deep voice called from the outside "Open the door and walk out of the house."
Eralynn and Sophia jumped apart. Sophia turned and ran to hide under the bed. Eralynn flattened her skirt before she walked to the door. She opened it and the guards walked inside.
"We'll need you to step outside while we search your house." One guard said as two others grabbed both of her arms and pushed her outside the house.
The guard on her right was Darik. Eralynn felt betrayed. She had trusted him and he had brought the guards to her door step.
Darik waited until the guard on her left wasn't looking and leaned down to whisper, "I'm sorry."
She just turned her head to look away from him.
The guards led her to the right side of the house and instructed her to wait while they searched the house and not move.
Eralynn didn't feel like listening so she walked down the side of the house to the bedroom window and stood on her tiptoes to look inside. She met Sophia's eyes under the bed and motioned for her to sneak out the back door.
As soon as Sophia crawled out from under the bed one of the guards walked into the room and made eye with her immediately. The guard approached Sophia and Eralynn watched as he grabbed her and pulled her out of the bedroom kicking and screaming.

Don’t mind me scratching Darik from the characters I like list and moving him to the characters I hate list.
Unless he actually has a reason behind that “I’m sorry” I won’t forgive Darik and keep him on my characters I hate list
